Travnikov: The plan for the development of Siberia "is not relevant" accepted by Mishustin.

The head of the Novosibirsk region Andrei Travnikov called "not very relevant" a new strategy for the socio-economic development of Siberia until 2035, which was approved by the Russian government in January.

According to Travnikov, the new strategy has no fundamental changes compared to the previous one, which operated from 2010 to 2020. “It seems that the fate of Siberia is to dig the bowels and melting them into metals at the first stage of the redistribution. Therefore, it seems to me that the strategy is not very relevant,” said Travnikov on the TV channel “OT”.

He noted that the region has its own development strategy "Siberian Leadership", which implies the achievements of a number of demographic indicators: for example, an increase in the average life expectancy of up to 80 years by 2030, the economic growth is half, and the population’s incomes are one and a half times. The construction of 570 social facilities and the repair of 350 buildings are also provided.

Experts call the program part of the election campaign of Travnikov. The elections will be held in 2023, but the current chapter has not yet announced its intention to participate.

• The Federal Strategy for the Development of Siberia involves the creation of 500 thousand jobs and an investment of 16 trillion rubles by 2035. According to the strategy, several industrial clusters associated with the prey and primary processing of natural resources should develop in Siberia: “forest, forest processing and forest chemistry”, “processing aluminum”, “precious metals”, “non -earth metals”, “tourism”, “agriculture and food industry” and “oil and gas” and “coal”.
• The division of the Siberian economy into industrial clusters in 2021 was proposed by Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko, saying that it is necessary to "proceed from the leading development of Siberia through the launch of industry clusters."
• The former development strategy of Siberia suggested "ensuring a sustainable increase in the level and quality of life of the population based on a balanced socio-economic system of an innovative type."
