The materials of the case against the ex-photographer of Navalny's headquarters, Alexander Strukov, were sent to court: he is accused of calls for terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and inciting hatred or enmity on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the First Department.

The Moscow City Court also approved the extension of Strukov’s arrest. In January 2022, his arrest was extended for a month.

The criminal case of the young man will be considered by the Second Western District Military Court in Moscow, the First Department told OVD-Info.

The case against Strukov was initiated due to comments under posts in the Telegram channel of the publication Znak.com. The publications contained the phrases “Glory to Ukraine!”, “Down with the power of the security officers,” “Good morning everyone, down with Putin!” and so on.

According to the expert who conducted the psychological and linguistic research, these statements contain signs of inciting hatred and hostility towards persons of Russian nationality, and are also aimed at committing terrorist acts, the destruction of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, members of the United Russia party and call for an attack on life Vladimir Putin.

Strukov faces up to ten and a half years in prison. The investigation into his case ended at the end of October. The photographer has been in pre-trial detention for a year now - he was detained on January 26, 2022 after a search. On January 28, the man was taken into custody.
