Former HSE teacher Iskander Yasaveev was arrested for “inciting hatred towards political figures”
The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan sentenced sociologist and ex-HSE teacher Iskander Yasaveev to three days of administrative arrest for “inciting hatred towards political figures,” said the sociologist’s lawyer, Rim Sabirov.
Yasaveev was found guilty under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation 
after the publication in “Idel.Realii” of the column “In a boyish way or in a Soviet way: why is Russia at war?” .

On February 27, 2022, Iskander Yasaveev was arrested for five days for an anti-war picket in the center of Kazan.
In October 2022, Yasaveev was fired from the St. Petersburg branch of the Higher School of Economics. The university management made this decision immediately after the sociologist was declared a “foreign agent.”
In November 2022, the City Without Barriers Foundation, founded by Yasaveev, was added to the register of non-profit “foreign agents”. The NPO is engaged in creating an accessible environment in Kazan. On January 31, a case was opened against Yasaveev for “inciting hatred or enmity” for text in the publication “Idel.Realii.”
