Deputies want to punish for discrediting and spreading fakes about volunteers

The amendments will be made to the articles of the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Offenses adopted a year ago, and they also provide for the ban on the dissemination of information that the participants of the volunteer formations were served in prison - with a request to fix such a norm, Evgeny Prigozhin turned.

The State Duma Committee on Security and Countering Corruption has developed a bill on responsibility for the "discredit" of volunteers participating in the war. This was reported to RBC by deputy Vasily Piskarev:

“Additional grounds are introduced for the establishment of responsibility for the discrediting of combatants, including volunteer organizations (formations) that assist the Armed Forces of Russia in the fulfillment of the tasks set for them.”

The deputies also want to introduce responsibility for the public distribution of “fakes” about volunteers. Amendments are proposed to be made to article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and in Articles 207.3 and 280.3 of the Criminal Code.

In addition, it is planned to prohibit the media to indicate the information that participants in volunteer formations were served in prison. With a request at the legislative level, to fix such a norm to the State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin was previously addressed by the founder of the Wagner PMC and Concord, Evgeny Prigozhin. Thus, the punishment will wait for those who carry out public actions, “aimed at their discrediting, publishing a negative nature addressed to them, as well as the dissemination of information about their past offenses”.
