Instasamka has always enjoyed everyone, but now deputies are also against her. Musical critic Nikolay Ovchinnikov tells what is happening

Daria Zoteeva, she is also Instasam, is one of the main heroines and antiheroin of the Russian pop culture. She showed the audience with staging of robbery and accidents, publicly rude to the courier and makeup artists, recorded musical albums and hundreds of Tik-Tokov. At the end of last year, Instasamka attracted the attention of the authorities: deputies and “ worried citizens ” demand to ban her speeches, her Russian concerts are canceled. “Only a limited person could take such a pseudonym,” the head of Pyatigorsk Dmitry Voroshilov is indignant . Recently, he asked the owner of the local DK Sofia to cancel the concert of Daria Zoteeva, which the majority knows as Instasam.

The name is the smaller thing that could be disliked by Instasam. For several years, Zoteeva managed to become a universal stimulus, but not to lose, but rather, to increase her popularity. The situation with her current round demonstrates how the Russian government behaves with popular musicians outside the patriotic trend, and the hype around this tour is that the country really listens instead of statesmen like Shaman and Rich.

Daria Zoteeva was born in 2000 in the city of Tobolsk, the Tyumen region, then moved with her parents to the Moscow Region. In 2017, she began to upload short videos on Instagram, where she twisted cute under other people's pop hits. Such content had no success, so soon Zoteeva began to act more aggressively. Burn on the camera, hint at oral sex, swear loudly. It enraged everyone, but the strategy worked. By 2019, almost 1.8 million people have signed up on Instagram Instagram, now there are three times more. On YouTube, by the time of writing this text, there were almost 2 million subscribers.

At the same time, Zoteyeva provoked, and sometimes produced countless scandals. She came up with the robbery of her own home and staged an accident with her young man Oleg MoneyKen (then he wore the nickname Kenfckyou). She quarreled with a former assistant who recorded a revealing video about her (just about the adjusted robbery), went to the show to Amiran Sardarov, where Kenfckyou boasted of multimillion -dollar earnings and quarreled with everyone.

Instasamka rude to the courier - and Yandex.Deus forever blocked her account. She kicked out stylists from her apartment - and Tiktokore and Klava Coca took up arms against her. She carried a rented apartment. She drove the listener from the concert for the appearance.

After each of her acts, I wanted to ask: “What, it was possible?” It turned out that yes.

Why did she get away with it? The 2010s became the time of the heroes who pushed the boundaries of the possible and showed that it was possible to achieve great success at least on underground rap battles, even on Mornshertovsky ditties-you can be a comedian, you could be a blogger. Without trying to climb into politics, all these characters showed that you can swear freely, talk about sex, drugs and other attributes of adulthood, and no longer depend on anyone and earn a lot of money. Instasamka is the flesh from the flesh of this era and, possibly, its ideal role model. The girl from a small city escaped from the back desk onto a large stage and distributes to everyone in full. And everyone is happy! Daria Zoteeva is an example of the fact that even in the most dull times there are social elevators, and people are interested in watching those who are traveling in them.

In this sense, the instasamka was similar to the mentioned Morgenstern, another popular supplier of scandals in the post -Soviet space. Until complete similarity, she was not enough only to engage in music - and she took up. And in 2022 she turned out to be both in numbers and creatively - much more successful than those who left for Dubai Morgenstern.

Her first albums - “Born to Flex” and “Triple Kid” - absolutely shameless penniless and unbridled rap of the new school. Under the chatter of electronic plates and the overloaded bass, the Instasamka explained that she has a lot of money (she was drawn “only for rubles”, she has a “billion”, and she will buy a “diamond”, and “your former fuse on my thousands”) and it is very dangerous to be next to her.

It was terribly primitive - Instasamka could repeat the same line under a simple bite and nothing more - the music, which at the same time worked very well.

Zoteyeva, as an early Face, took her arrogant representative ( “Russians go - Stalin, Lenin will not cooperate” - this is the new “ I drop the West ”). Like the same Morgenstern, she exposed her wealth (invented or not, no matter) for show. Like the whole new school of Russian -speaking rap (from OG Buda to Soda Luv), she portrayed life as one endless holiday organized on their own (not necessarily legally) money and accompanied by sex and use of various kinds of substances, including prohibited by Russian laws.

Instasamka, as a journalist and chief specialist in this kind of music Nikolai Redkin, “ materialized in Moscow of the 2020s, a swore from the stories of Zoshchenko / Elloka-Ludozhnka” materialized in Moscow. ” But this Ellochka would not have defeated everyone, if she had not had such a cool sound.

Officially, her partner Oleg MoneyKen is responsible for the sound on the albums of Instasham. But, according to rumors , the producer of Padillion made her hits in reality. This is a musician from the Ufa association Dopeclvb and the comrade-in-arms of the popular R'N'B artist Thomas Mraz. Indeed, his laconic and whipping hip-hop is very reminiscent of Instasamka's notes. His solo works are quite comparable to the discs of another bitmaker who began to sing independently-Glory Marlowe: the same melodic and romantic hip-hop. Padillion does not have enough Magnum's Opus, its own “ I get drunk again ” to jump to the tops in the charts. But, if rumors about Instasam is true, he has already recorded his key work. And it is called "Popstar".

Instasamka and its producer - or producers, who knows, expose the genre to the maximum, leaving only bit, bass and rare keyboards from the songs. It turns out that the sound stripped naked contains the most juicy soil. Perhaps the whole thing is in the mood. Most of the hits of pop House are songs of personal longing. Being a parties for parties, they were still deprived of a festive mood. “Popstar” is 25 minutes of absolute, rampant fun, a total party, and Instasam on it is the main star.

What is this album about? Yes, all about the same as the past wheels of Zoteeva, no matter how she talks about changes in her lyrics in her telegram. There is a little more love, a little more greetings to men unknown and unworthy of the singer, but without tears, and in the format ““ I went to ” - you read the lips / my Merce already at the entrance, I need to do it.”

On Instasam, Prada and the Devil are her lawyer (about this is the title track ). She boasts with money and the fact that she is ready to do anything, for the money (the main hit of the disc “for money” ) (except, apparently, duets. In this song there is a line “I do not make fit, even for money yes”. - approx. “Cold”) and lists a list of expensive purchases made by her husband. She admires her own body ( “My waist is in your memory, fatalics!” ). She believes that everyone owes her - and no one refuses her. She declares herself with a pop star -and becomes a pop star: and we must kiss her Za-AD.

“Popstar” is an album of wild self -confidence, frantic grandmas and happiness in consumption. He bribes his unceremoniousness. He cannot be opposed to anything.

Instasamka, lady-scandal, was able to convert her scandalous reputation into the sticky and boring pop music. And in this field she overtook both more timid pop artists such as Anna Asti and the main scandalist of Morgenstern. He was too carried away by showdowns with colleagues in the hip-hop shop and, in the end, did not release anything intelligible in a year. Soon, perhaps, the instasamka is equal to the morgenenster and by the dislike of the Russian security forces to her person.

The authorities became interested in Instasam a year and a half ago. In 2021, Roskomnadzor decided to check her tracks at the request of conservative activists from the public center for the protection of family values ​​"Ivanchay": they saw in the tracks of the singer "debauchery" and the propaganda of sex work. Then it ended only with a check. The RKN also blocked the Genius website because of the singer’s song about the AUE movement prohibited in Russia, but there were a couple more dozen artists along with it.

The new round of the struggle of the state with Instasam came in early 2023. On January 10, the head of the safe Internet league, Ekaterina Mizulina, again saw in hits blogger debauchery. The social activist said that Zoteeva "in pursuit of superprofits advertises drugs for the sale of drugs." The next day, Instasamka said that she would go to a tour of Russia with an updated set list: “We are going with a program without a mat and without old material.” Apparently, the authorities did not believe her - and Zoteeva’s concerts began to be prohibited before the beginning of her tour: in Pyatigorsk, Kursk, Sochi, Instasham performances were canceled, the show in Krasnodar was in question.

The persecution of instasamka corresponds to the current trend of power to narrow the field of opportunities for creative people. The Russian state does not need not only protest creativity, but in general any that does not fit into the dominant conservative ideology and involves consumption, and not delaying belts, entertainment, and not the mobilization of resources, the search for quick love, and not the love of the abstract homeland. Daria Zoteeva in this sense is an ideal target. She had long exposed herself, lived a beautiful life for show, and no promises to act “without an old style” will act. Because without an old style, in any way - they fell in love with it.

The popularity of Instasam also looks as organic as possible. Her career is a career of dreams: from mud to the reality, from a schoolgirl to the queen of Instagram and pop music. The artist in fact demonstrates the old slogan of the magazine "Poster" - "As say, it will be so" adjusted for the era. She said that the pop star-so it happened. She said she was loved - and she was loved. Her audacity and deliberate primitivism, her disco during the plague and war sound and look like an alternative to any other art available in Russia-2023 art.

While others play silence, looking for new words to describe what is happening, Daria Zoteeva spits all this and rushes like a tank in your playlists. A paradox, but Instasam is a symbol of real personal freedom in an era that denies freedom. She achieved everything herself. She dragged herself to the throne. She told everyone to admire. That is why it is so interesting to look at her. That is why she is so infuriated - enviable and wants the same. Preferably for money.
