The US Treasury Department has removed singer Grigory Leps from the sanctions list. The corresponding message appeared on the website of the department.
Leps appeared on the sanctions list under various names, including Grigory Lepsveridze and Grisha Leps. What is the reason for his removal from the list, the Ministry of Finance does not specify.
The agency blacklisted Leps in 2013. According to the US authorities, he transported money for the head of the Brotherly Circle criminal group, thief in law Vladislav Leontiev. Leps himself called the accusations absurd.
Vladislav Leontiev, who died at the end of 2020, is now also excluded from the US sanctions list.
