The Russian state has traditionally complex relations over time. The Romanov Empire, positioning itself as a European power, lived differently - in comparison with all of Europe - a calendar. Lagging at the same time by two almost weeks, which is symbolic. The convenience of interaction with the world was sacrificed to official ideology - Orthodoxy.
But these thirteen days are simply rather harmless in comparison with everything else of the archaic. The Bolsheviks took up the matter seriously and declared themselves the leaders of not only the present, but also the past - but the novel “1984” has not yet been written! They destroyed the reference points of memory: monuments, street names, temples, and entire cities - first of all, Moscow. Everything that was in the country, and in the world, before them, was only preparing for their triumph, and peasant wars in Europe or the uprising of Pugachev were the forerunner of the Great October. Books and textbooks were written, designed to fix the only true picture of the past.
The problem is that the adjustment was subject to not only the distant past, but also yesterday. The constant exposure of recent associates required not only the relentless works of the Chekists, but also rewriting the latest history. It reached fantastic insanity: unwanted figures disappear from group photographs - these people could never stand next to the leader! As you know, after the arrest and execution of Beria, all the owners of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia received a letter with a recommendation to cut out such and such pages from such and such a volume (there was an article about Lavrenty Pavlovich as a faithful ally of Comrade Stalin and the successor of Lenin’s case) and paste the attached material-an article about the Bering Strait. Most did it!
And although the state of Putin is not at all a remake of the USSR, its attitude towards control over the past and in general, by the time is absolutely Soviet.
The story corresponds: we fought with Hitler alone, about Lend-Lis, battles in Italy, in Greece, in Normandy, in Africa no one recalls. As in general, about “our valiant allies”, as Stalin called them. There was a united West against us (sometimes, to make it clear, they say the “European Union” or “NATO”, which was not there then, but it doesn’t matter - there was no Leopard tanks during the Battle of Stalingrad) either). As under the Bolsheviks, the old textbooks are removed, new, Volgograd comes in their place for a day, but becomes Stalingrad, monuments to Prince Vladimir, Ivan the Terrible and Joseph Stalin are opening. But the archives remain closed, and public organizations engaged in the search for truth about the past are prohibited. This is all about the struggle not with the wrong perception of today - about the struggle for the past!
Apparently, our superiors really want to rule not only over specific events-to redo them at their request, as the authorities remade the Second World War-but also over the time itself. What, if not by this, explain the time of the time that happened to Medvedev’s presidency: shifting time zones, rejection of a seasonal time shift, transition first to winter time, then to summer? In the Kremlin, it is pleasant to feel equal to God, the lords of the time. And then they began to fight!
And now, under the roar of guns, the alteration of the past - both recent history, and ancient times - took truly epic forms.
Ancient rituals that have long lost its meaning are being revived: for example, the steps of the Temple of the Armed Forces are allegedly made from the trophy guns of the Great Patriotic War.
The last achievement is the “reconstruction” of the Battle of Stalingrad, dedicated to a visit to the city of Vladimir Putin.
It should be noted that the games in the reconstruction have a large role in our lives - just few people notice it. For example, the reconstructors were shooters-girkin and beard, who made a huge contribution to the deployment of a spiral of murders in the Donbass (Strelkov was already sentenced to life in The Hague, I hope, ahead).
The reconstruction of the Battle of Stalingrad was little like the games widespread in different countries, when people dress in costumes of different medieval armies, wave with plastic swords, and then all together go to drink beer. We have everything seriously-real tanks, artillery, cavalry, thousands (have reported for thousands) spectators and even “guests from abroad”. Why all this?
The inhabitants of the Kremlin pursue at least two goals with their expensive excursions into the past. Firstly, they tell how, in fact, victory was easy. Yes, they talk about millions of dead, but they show the wrong war that Jonah Degen wrote about for example:
“Don't cry, do not moan, you are not small,
You are not wounded - you are just killed
Give me a memory will take off your felt boots,
We still have to advance. "
-And a completely different one, where “horses are full of hooves”, the soldiers on the soldiers are a brand new shape, just like on some cornea, and they themselves-at least for the competition and songs. Message is clear - do not be afraid of new Stalingrades, that's how great we succeeded in, and now it will work out too. And we can repeat and repeat. You just don't remember what we told you yesterday. No yesterday, except for the fact that we draw you today, has never been. And by the way, this is how fun we take a cardboard Reichstag.
They do a lot of this for themselves to believe and calm down - it is painfully alarming to them in reality. And so they release some propaganda nonsense, like the film “T-34”,-I could not find a single person who would watch him-and declare him the rental leader. So, people like it, it means they believe, which means we will still fight, maybe we’ll take Kyiv.
But there is a second task that goes far beyond the limits of primitive agitation. Soviet, and at the present time, Russian miracle gods are not just invulnerable to bullets and easily cope with dozens of fascists alone. They are in a critical situation - in battle, during interrogation in the Gestapo, and on the labor front - they lose all personality, become exactly the same.
Human feelings - fear, for example, or longing for close ones - disappear, the personality is replaced by a certain emanation of the state - Stalin, Party, Fatherland.
They become only him, the state. This is - according to the USSR and in Putin - an ideal person.
This is their ideal not only for the war. They, not understanding what freedom trained in their KGB schools is building and unquestioning subordination, do not know how to deal with normal people, and even more so how to manage them. They are probably not even against feeding the subordinate population well, but only "Step to the side - escape!" This is holy. And they prove to reconstructions, new history textbooks and many others to us and themselves, which has always been like that.
This sovereign ringing in paradoxically depreciates the very feat of the people on which they parasitize. A feat is not a poster “Mother Mother Calls!”, It is overcoming fear and pain, often for yourself unexpected worthy behavior in a terrible situation, which you did not fall into your own free will. A feat is an act of a free person who, from the victim of circumstances, becomes a subject, the master of his life - even for several remaining moments. But this feat of our authorities cannot understand, it, like Stalin, is afraid at one time. And therefore, cyclopic monuments are erected by the invented heroes, even those about whom everyone knows that they were not at all, and they try not to remember real heroes - they do not like their power. And every day they will “reconstruct” the past again and again, adjusting it to the tasks of today.
