The Soviet and Russian film director, People's Artist of Russia Vadim Abdrashitov died. He was 78 years old. This was reported to TASS in the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.

According to RIA Novosti, the cause of the death of the director was an oncological disease.
Abdrashitov is known for his films "Stop Potapova!" (1973), “The Word for Protection” (1976), “The train stopped” (1982), “Parade Planet” (1984), “Plubum, or Dangerous Game” (1986), “Servant” (1988), “Passenger play” (1995) and “Magnetic Bray” (2003).
