Ministry of Defense: Putin does not sign a decree on the completion of mobilization, so as not to deprive the mobilized of compensation and social guarantees

The Ministry of Defense, in response to a request from the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Pskov Region, Artur Gaiduk , reported that social guarantees for those mobilized and members of their families will remain in effect until President Vladimir Putin cancels the mobilization by his decree.

“If the decree is declared invalid before the end [of the war in Ukraine], citizens called up for mobilization and members of their families will be deprived of additional social guarantees and compensation provided by the government and senior officials of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation,” the Ministry of Defense said in its response.

The department also claims that activities related to the notification and conscription of citizens for military service for mobilization ended on October 28.

In January, in response to a similar appeal to the presidential administration, Gaiduk was informed that the decree on mobilization was still in effect, but the military registration and enlistment offices were recruiting military units from volunteers and contract soldiers.

On October 31, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin on the mobilization of 300 thousand people and the implementation of the plan. The next day, Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov announced that there would be no new wave of mobilization under Putin’s old decree.
