Latvian activist Tatyana Andriyts was arrested for violating state interests: she is suspected of administering the pro-Russian telegram channel

On February 6, the State Security Service (SGB) detained the activist of the Russian Union of Latvia (RSL) in Riga 22-year-old Tatyana Andriyts. She was charged under two articles of the criminal law - 81.1 (assistance to a foreign state in its activities directed against the Latvian Republic) and 84 (violation of the sanctions established by the UN Security Council). This detention and the girl who followed him caused a wide resonance in Latvia and Russia.

The fierce defenders of Tatyana Andriyts are sure that she did not commit anything illegal and that her arrest is purely political in nature. Like, this is nothing more than a manifestation of Russophobia from the Latvian authorities and revenge to an activist for participating in promotions against the demolition of Soviet monuments. Another part of the sympathetic speaks of the naivety of the girl: she does not know what she is doing - which means that you need to understand and forgive. However, there are many who consider the arrest of a young activist completely justified, and her activities are a serious crime against the country whose citizen she is.

The Latvian Security Service is not verbose, but something about the reasons for the detention of Tatyana became known. The SGB suggests that the detainee administered the telegram channel "Antifacists of the Baltic states." Thus, she is suspected of committing actions directed against the national interests of Latvia.

In the apartment of Tatyana’s mother, that is, at the place of residence of the girl, a search was conducted during which all the carriers of the information were seized.

Initially, the detention was expected for 48 hours, but the court received a request for the need to arrest the detainee, which was satisfied by the court. Now Tatyana Andriyts is in a female Ilgucemic prison in Riga.

The telegram channel, the administration of which is charged with an activist of the RSL, is most often mentioned in connection with the recruitment of Partizan in Latvia to fight against the “fascist regime”, as well as with the preparation of the so-called “shooting lists”: the channel collects information about Latvian state and public figures who oppose the war of Russia in Ukraine. The creators of the canal plan to transfer this information to the special services of the Russian Federation and other departments, so that in relation to these persons, when Russia “releases” Latvia, appropriate repressive measures are taken. In general, the Baltic Anti -Fascist channel glorifies Russia, its political regime, foreign policy and aggression against Ukraine. Its authors do not hide their desire to come to Latvia "on Russian tanks." The channel publishes calls for cyber attacks on Latvian state institutions and private companies. The channel subscribers are also offered to collect information on the infrastructure of the National Armed Forces and Forces of NATO allies in Latvia.

Among the creators of the Baltic Anti-Fascist telegram channel, the Latvian blogger Sergei Vasiliev appears, against whom criminal cases were instituted in Latvia and Finland for “financing terrorism”, as well as a certain Victoria Matule, who performs on the channel under the pseudonym Moon. Both Vasiliev and Matule are now in Russia. From the latter, Tatyana Andriyan is well acquainted. Having entered the University of St. Petersburg, Tatyana met with the moon more than once, as evidenced by publicly affordable photos. However, Victoria recently made a statement in which Tatyana denies the participation in the administration of the Anti -Fascist of the Baltic states. Tatyana herself denies this. At the end of January, she arrived in Latvia on vacation and calmly lived here for about two weeks. For her and for her associates in the RSL, detention and arrest were a surprise.

Tatyana Andriyts is a member of the Russian Union of Latvia, which positions itself as a Russian -speaking defender in Latvia. It was the RSL who actively advocated the preservation of education in Russian and for the preservation of Soviet monuments. The party leader Tatyana Zhdanok, who voted a year ago, voted to the BB against the condemnation of Russian aggression in Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against the Putin regime, remains the leader of the party. The formal position of the RSL in relation to the war in Ukraine is "not everything is so unambiguous." Publicly the party does not support the aggression of the Russian Federation, but also does not condemn. This allows her to legally stay in the Latvian political field. The Russian Union of Latvia participated in the past in the fall of the parliamentary elections, but did not overcome the 5 percent barrier and did not get to the Sejm. But in previous municipal elections, four people from the RSL went to the Riga Duma.

Headed by the Russian Union of Latvia in the capital's self -government, Miroslav Mitrofanov, who is also the co -chair of the party’s board along with Tatyana Zhdanok.

Mitrofanov told Novaya Gazeta Europe that before leaving for study in St. Petersburg, Tatyana wrote a statement: “Due to the fact that I will live in another country, I ask you to exclude me from the party ...” But the Sopartians persuaded her to simply freeze their membership until she has been unlocked and returned.

“She is sharply different from most modern youth in that she is ready to protect her idealistic performances,” says Tatyana Andriyan Mitrofanov. - Well, that is, when you say to modern children, youth, that it is dangerous, a person usually retreats and says: “Well, yes, why do I need this.” And she has an excitement - excitement and resistance. On the one hand, this is wonderful - such a willingness to fight for your beliefs. On the other hand, of course, this imposes additional difficulties on relatives or senior comrades. It is still necessary to somehow direct activity in the creative direction. It is difficult, of course, with her, but interesting.

Speaking of the activity of Tatyana Andriyts, the co -chairman recalls how she went out to be on duty at the Night Watch to the monument to the Riga liberators (demolished in August last year), and also participated in the collection of signatures under the petition in the European Parliament “Against the Russophobia and Demolishing of Monuments”.

When asked whether Tatyana is involved in the activities of the Baltic Anti-Fascist Telecase channel, the politician answers as follows:

- She is familiar with the defendants - she is familiar with those who write and manage there. She met with them in St. Petersburg, they created a small Latvian fraternity, drank coffee together, discussed something there, took pictures. That is, there is no secret in this. But one thing is to meet, another is to actively participate in this activity. I asked her these questions, she categorically denied that she was working there.

The head of the RSL faction in the Riga Duma assures that the content in the telegram channel “Antifacists of the Baltic states” personally causes rejection. And that the party members even earlier agreed not to draw information from such sources and not to distribute it.

“And all this agreement was fulfilled, ” he says. -There were breakdowns several times: someone tried to get around the whole thing somehow, then it was necessary to understand. In principle, I asked Tatyana what she had to do with them. And she swore that she did not work for them as an administrator and as a moderator.

From the story of Miroslav Mitrofanov it follows that Tatyana Andriyz was going to come to Latvia before the New Year and asked him for advice whether to go or not. He answered her that she was certainly interesting to the police,

Because some administrative cases are not closed for the past years. That is, the probability of its detention was. At that time, the girl listened and did not go to Latvia. After that, according to Mitrofanov, he and Tatyana did not communicate until she was in Latvia at the end of January. Miroslav Mitrofanov believes that at first there were no complaints about Tatyana from the security service - they suddenly appeared on the eve of her detention. And the reason for this surprise, according to his assumption, could be someone's denunciation: "The information that was provided by one of the ill-wishers or even, perhaps, is compiled by someone." The “vile action”, according to Mitrofanov, could be a screenshot from a computer or phone processed in a graphic editor. Thus, in his opinion, you can insert a few words into any innocent correspondence, and this correspondence will look completely different.

Tatyana Andriyts was born in Norway, although her mother is a Riga. She studied at the Norwegian school and speaks well in Norwegian. When she moved to Latvia, she studied at a Russian school for some time, then transferred to Latvian. He is a citizen of Latvia, participated in the elections as a candidate from the RSL.

The Russian Union of Latvia and the party leaders consider Tatyana’s arrest an excessive action: in their opinion, it does not pose any danger to the state. At the same time, Mitrofanov admits that he and Tatyana have some ideological disagreements that were able to smooth out in joint work.

Part of the society believes that the security authorities are also too soft for people like Tatyana Andriyts and her associates passing through similar criminal articles.

“The Latvian courts actually justify these villains,” writes the famous publicist Elite Weideman, expressing the opinions of the national oriented part of the Latvian society. - From February 24 last year, when Russia has invaded Ukraine, the criminal investigation department has opened 34 criminal cases for the activities of persons supporting Russian aggression, as well as for anti -state statements and calls for aggression. In most cases, the violation was committed defiantly, but the court often allowed these violators to remain at large, and punishment was mostly symbolic in nature - the guilty admitted that he regrets the deed, and then an agreement with the prosecutor, a small collateral, and a person at freedom! ”

At the same time, Vaidemane mentions Blogger Edgar Blauders, Vladimir Linderman, Ruslan Pankratov and other Russian world defenders in Latvia, who, after the initial detention and arrest, were then released on bail.

“I’m afraid that the same thing will happen with the employee of the Baltic Anti -Fascist channel Tatyana Andriyts: a decent evidence base will be assembled, but the court will decide in cooperation with the prosecutor’s office that“ not everything is so unambiguous ”and will release the Andriyts to freedom,” the publicist summarizes.

Criminal processes against the defenders of the “Russian world” in Latvia have recently been excited relatively often. Basically, those who ignore the law adopted after the outbreak of the war prohibiting the public support of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine (on public glorification of crimes against peace and war crimes) are mainly accused. As a result, most of those who openly expressed the sympathies of the Putin authorities on social networks and stigmatized the “Ukronacists” very soon became quiet: the work of the state security service is fruit. Someone escaped with a challenge for a conversation and a strict warning, someone-a fine. The most zealous received summons in the court.

So, on March 17, the popular Riga YouTube blogger Kirill Fedorov was detained. Information in the telegram channel “War History of Weapons”, which is associated with the Internet projects of Fedorov, stated that he was charged with a violation of the Latvian criminal law under Articles 78 (inciting national, ethnic and racial hatred) and Art. 74 clause 1 (justification of the genocide, crimes against humanity, crimes against the world, as well as a war crime).

According to similar accusations, on June 17 they detained, and then arrested (later released on bail) the former member of the party of the National Bolsheviks and the active adherent of the “Russian world” Vladimir Linderman. Criminal processes have begun against several Latvian journalists who collaborated with the pro -Kremlin propaganda media, which are banned in Latvia.

In January of this year, in part 1 of Art. 74 and Art. 78 of the criminal law of Latvia, the criminal process was opened against Tikard Bleider, who is suspected of inciting hatred on ethnic grounds. As noted in the SGB, on the Tick-Tok platform, his video is mainly focused on the support of Russia and are aimed at inciting hatred of Latvians and Ukrainians, as well as the justification and glorification of the war, begun by Russia against Ukraine.

There are also famous adherents of the “Russian world” in Latvia with experience, which have long been closely attention, and then the successor of this structure - the SSB. In addition to Vladimir Linderman, whom the security police detained and accused of anti -state activities long before the war in Ukraine, this is the head of the Congress of Negraders, Alexander Gaponenko and journalist Yuri Alekseev, who were judged for inciting interethnic growth. Recently, the Court of Appeal of Alekseev was one month of a prison term of the fourteen, awarded by the court of first instance.
