The American biopharmaceutical company Viatris stopped supplying the drug Viagra to Russia in 2022. This publication "Interfax" was reported in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Details. “Viagra” is not produced in Russia, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Interfax said. However, the country has a “technological possibility of the production of drugs with the same active substance”, follows from the department.
In particular, the authorities supported the clinical studies of the drug with MNN Sildenafil in the framework of the state program “Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry”. In addition, the medication was launched into trade, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
According to the Ministry, from January to September 2022, the production of MNN Sildenafil in Russia increased by more than 11 %, sales - by 15 %.
