In 2015, activist Donna Maklin discovered that the man with whom she met for two years was a police officer. Maklin is one of the dozens of women who learned that their relationship was a lie. In the book by Small Town Girl: Love, Lies and Undercover Police, she describes her experience and cases comrade in misfortune. Context

In 2010, the British activist, known under the pseudonym Lisa Jones , found a passport in the glove compartment of the car. The photo was captured in the photo, but the surname in the document did not coincide with the one that Lisa knew. Jones and friends conducted an investigation and found out: her boyfriend is a policeman undercover.

After that, it became known about other similar cases: in December 2011, eight women filed a lawsuit against the service of the metropolitan police of London. They announced a violation of the inviolability of personal life and the right to create relations without state intervention. In 2015, the service publicly admitted to violation of human rights, apologized to the plaintors and came to an agreement with a family of them. At the beginning of 2022, ten years after filing a lawsuit, Kate Wilson, the eighth of the victims, also received compensation.

In 2012, journalists Rob Evans and Paul Lewis published Undercover: The True Story of Britain's Secret Police , which revealed a forty -year -old espionage of the British police behind the activist. Its employees were confident of women and their friends to follow anti -racist, socialist and anti -fascist groups, as well as eco -activist_ki. In stories told in Undercover , many activists learned themselves and their past relations. Donna Maklin is one of them. Together with other deceived women, she joined the campaign to publish crimes of the British police.

In 2022, the Small Town Girl: Love, Lies and Undercover Police , in which Maklin tells its story and publishes patterns used by police undercover, was published. Invented stories about children's injury, unexpected partings, fake professions and documents in the name of dead children are an incomplete list of “tools”, with which spies supported their false identity.

Documents for the names of dead children

Some police officers, under the cover, not only changed the names for the “case”, but also used the identity of the deceased children, on whose last names were fake documents. It is known at least about 80 such cases , in one of which the policeman used the identity of a living child . According to Maklin, "the first task of the police officer is to scroll through several testimonies of death in search of the deceased with a common surname and the same name as the officer." In 2020, the relatives of the children, whose identity were used, sued the service of the metropolitan police of London. According to The Guardian, the police not only made documents for the names of the deceased, but also compiled a dossier to their families, investigated the areas where they lived, and even visited their graves.

"Convenient" fake professions

Many police officers chose fake professions undercover, involving their hands. “Carpenter, manufacturer of candlesticks, locksmith. Male professions. I believe they thought that women would puff on the hand -to -hand men, ”McClin ironizes. Her former bridegroom Carlo Soraacci Donna, whom she knew as Carlo Neri, introduced herself as a locksmith. Having won the trust of friends-activistically, Donna, he invited them to change the locks on the entrance doors to the safer ones. Maklin talks about joint travels paid by Carlo Soraacci, dinners in expensive restaurants, regular taxi trips and expensive gifts from the groom. Another activist Helen Style also reports that she received designer clothes and accessories from a former young man.

Fake injury

Activists, deceived by the police, report a similar pattern of the end of the relationship: often the men disappeared suddenly, justifying themselves in problems with mental health. Carlo Soraacci, in order to part with Maklin after the end of his task, invented the story of domestic violence in his own family.

According to the policeman, at the funeral of his father, he found out that the deceased subjected his sister to sexualized violence from the age of eleven. This information allegedly provoked a nervous breakdown in Sorachaci, after which he could not continue the relationship. Maklin itself in childhood became a witness and a victim of domestic violence. She believes that it is no coincidence that the pretext for breaking up: having studied the biography of McClin before the start of the relationship, he knew its family history and understood what pain points could put pressure on.

The reason is another family

Many of the police undercover were married and had children. However, this did not prevent them not only to initiate parallel relations with activists, but also to live with them, make them proposals of hand and heart, and even have children. Some police wives, undercover, did not know anything about the "tasks" of their husbands.

The relationship of an anonymous activist under the pseudonym Rosa with Jim Boyling lasted nine years. Once he disappeared after a “nervous breakdown”, which Rosa at that time considered the real. She searched for Jim for a year and a half, not finding any documentary evidence of his existence, but receiving from him strange IMILS, in which he asked anyone not to talk about her search. Soon after Jim reappeared in the life of the rose, she became pregnant from him. The rose is not the only one: at least four cases of pregnancy from police officers are known at least.

“When you give birth from them, a constant spy appears in your life, which you cannot get rid of. He receives the legal right to make decisions in your family. This is an operation that never ends, ”Rosa shares .

Just three months after the start of relations with Donna, Maklin Carlo Soraacci made her an offer. Not knowing about his real identity and family status, the activist happily agreed. As she understood later, the proposal was a way to distract her from the true plans of the policeman.

Provocators agents

That evening, when the Sorachchi suggested Maklin to become his wife, he tried to convince several activists close to her to set fire to a charity store. According to the policeman, the fascist_k training center was secretly organized in it. Activists did not accept the Sorachchi plan, and it was not put into action. Maklin believes that Soraacci made her an offer to distract her and other girls of activists from the arson plan discussed.

Another well-known agent provocateur is Bob Lambert, who was introduced into the front of the liberation of animals in the 1980s. His data helped to blame two people of arson of fur stores, but one of the convicts claims that it was Lambert who placed bombs in buildings. The provocateur, who during the "assignment" also became the father of the child of one of the activists, denies the accusations.

Consequences

The woman who gave birth to Lambert describes her experience in relations with him as traumatic: "As if the state raped me." Donna McClin also speaks of retraudimatization in her book A repeated psychological experience of the traumatic experience that she experienced during examinations, interrogations and interviews. The survey took three hours and included sensitive questions about Maklin’s sexual relations with Sorachachchi: what his penis looked like, whether they used contraception, how often they had sex. “Another evidence is how sexist this system is. Consent for them is just an empty phrase. ”
