The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine upheld the claim of the Ministry of Justice for the transfer to state ownership of enterprises owned by Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The court decision concerns the Nikolaevsky Alumina Refinery, as well as the subsoil mining companies Glukhovsky Quartzite Quarry, Khustsky Quarry and Zhezhelovsky Quarry. As noted, the value of the property transferred to Ukraine is more than 10 billion hryvnia (more than 20 billion rubles or more than 270 million dollars).
“It was established that Deripaska, who was part of the inner circle of the military-political leadership of Russia, managed enterprises through controlled commercial structures in different regions of Ukraine. Thus, the Russian oligarch tried to hide his relationship to Ukrainian assets,” the SBU press release says.
At the same time, the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported that 350 properties with a total value of more than two billion hryvnia were seized from the Russian businessman for state income.
