British police have barred investigative journalist and Bellingcat executive Christo Grozev from attending the BAFTAs in London due to a "threat to public safety". His family, including his son and teenage daughter, were also banned from attending the ceremony. Grozev himself announced this.

Grozev wrote that he understands the need to ensure public safety, but such moments, he said, show a growing danger for independent journalists around the world. “These dangers come not only from bloodthirsty dictators, but also from the fact that the voices of journalists are being silenced rather than amplified by the civilized world they are trying to serve,” Grozev said.

Navalny, a documentary film directed by Daniel Roer, is nominated for a BAFTA award, which tells about the poisoning of Alexei Navalny. The film features Khristo Grozev - he investigated the poisoning of a politician.
