On March 31, 2016, relatives found 54-year-old Dmitry Tsilikin dead in his apartment in St. Petersburg. He worked as a observer of Rosbalt agency, and before that, the editor of the heading of Culture and Society in the St. Petersburg newspaper PIK. The last time cylikin got in touch after returning from a business trip from Riga - a week before he was found dead.
There were about 30 stab wounds on Tlyikin's body. The investigation established that he died from them a few days earlier. The killer was the 21-year-old student of the Hydrometeorological University Sergey Kosyrev. Tlyikin met him on the Internet and invited him to visit him on March 27. According to the investigation, a quarrel arose between them - and Kosyrev attacked Tiancin.
Komsomolskaya Pravda, with reference to the source in the investigation, wrote that, according to Kosyrev, he knew about Tsilikin's homosexuality and wanted to collect compromising on him, then to blackmail. He carefully prepared for the murder and took a knife and injuries with him to meet him. Later, Kosyrev called himself a “cleaner”, whose life is a “crusade against a certain social group,” wrote Fontanka. He killed Tsilikin out of hatred.
On May 30, 2017, the court sentenced Kosyrev to 8.5 years in a maximum security colony.

On the night of June 29, 2019, before entering the Kursk Station building, Anton Berezhnoy attacked Evgeny Efimov with a knife with a knife with the shouts of “fagots, scum”. The attacker struck the Podalov with a knife in the heart - he died in place. Efimov received slight damage.
Roman Podalalov moved to Moscow from the village of Krynka, Rostov Region in the early 2000s, to professionally engage in dancing, and enrolled in the Ballet School of Alla Bill Todes. A few years later he threw dancing due to problems with his back and got a job as a waiter at the President-Hotel, later became the restaurant administrator. In Moscow, Podalov met Efimov and moved to him to Podolsk (Moscow Region). On the day of the attack, they spent time in a gay club. Efimov suggested that the attacker followed them along the path from the club and attacked them because of their sexual orientation.
Anton Gerelynoy was arrested on the day of the attack. He worked as a loader and was previously judged for an attack on a policeman. According to Privyzhnoye, he did not plan to kill Medalov: he "himself fell on the knife." The Investigative Committee instituted a criminal case against the murder of Podalov and the attack on Efimov.
In February 2020, the jury justified the careful on charges of murder, although he partially pleaded guilty. The court appointed him a year and 11 months of restriction of freedom for the beating of Efimov. In September of the same year, the Moscow City Court abolished the acquittal and sent the case for a new consideration. At the same time, the accusation of the murder was retrained on a milder article - about causing grievous bodily harm that caused death by negligence.
The hearing was scheduled for June 1, 2021. During the break, Berezhnaya escaped from the court and did not even take the passport with him. The next day he was put on the wanted list, and on June 4 they detained and sent to a pre -trial detention center. On June 9, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced the respect for nine years in a maximum security colony. This time, the jury found him guilty, but deserving condescension.

On July 21, 2019, Elena Grigoryev was found dead in St. Petersburg near her house. There were eight stab wounds on her body and traces of suffocation. Grigoryeva was an activist, went to rallies, including the “Russian marches” of nationalists, and later began to oppose the accession of Crimea, war in the east of Ukraine and for the rights of the LGBT community. At the end of 2019, Grigoryeva openly stated that she was bisexual. Then she began to come to threats, in particular from the project “drank against LGBT”, from the acquaintances of the nationalists and from Timur Bulatov, who called himself a “fighter with gays”.
Familiar Grigoryeva believed that the Pila project was to blame for her murder: in the summer of 2019, he announced the “new hunting season” for representatives of the LGBT community. Human rights activist Nikita Tomilov accused Grigoryeva Timur Bulatov of the death: he called the murder of the activist "moral jihad."
In connection with the murder of Grigoryeva, the police also interviewed the nationalist Nikolai Grachev. In May 2019, a few months before the murder, Grigoryeva filed a rape statement to Grachev. They have been familiar with him since the time of "Russian marches." Grachev did not like the “gay-test”, part of which Grigoryeva became, and he wanted to “disperse” her: he wrote to her from the fake account, introduced himself to gay, asked to let her go to the night.
He came to Grigoryeva and demanded that she call other LGBT activists to "peel them on the video." A few hours later the police arrived, Grigoryeva wrote a statement. According to Grachev, he "threw her once, but did not beat her fists." After this incident, they did not see each other. When asked about the possible involvement of the “saw” in the murder of Grigoryeva Grachev, he was not for and did not mind, but supports their desire to “intimidate” LGBT representatives.
On July 25, the police detained the suspect in the murder of Grigoryeva. It turned out to be a native of Kyrgyzstan in 1981, whose name remained unknown. Then the investigators called the cause of the murder of the “household conflict” and noted that Grigoryeva “led an asocial lifestyle” and “drank alcohol with the suspect”.
But in the end, for the murder of Grigorieva, her friend was condemned -a resident of St. Petersburg Alexei Volnyanko. He was given eight years and one month in colony of maximum security. The lawyer of the LGBT group “Exit” Ksenia Mikhailov believes that the investigation did not provide enough evidence that would talk about the “household conflict” Grigoryeva and Volnyanko, and also did not check other versions of the murder-including the motive of hatred.
In 2017, the Laboratory of Study of Sexuality published the statistics of crimes on the basis of hatred against LGBT people. These are the crimes when the representative of LGBT becomes a victim precisely because the offender is biased to him. For example, in 2010, 18 such crimes were recorded in Russia (among them-13 murders), and in 2015-65 (among them-27 murders). Every year their number only grew.
In 2019, only in Moscow and the Moscow Region, human rights activists recorded 41 cases of attacks, violence, threats and threatening behavior on the basis of hatred of the LGBT community. Most often, they were noted in the LGBT-group “Incredual”, and homosexual and bisexual men who are lured on “standing dates” become victims of such crimes. Of the 11 attacks committed in the capital and the region in 2019, one ended with murder.
