Fashion journalist, author of the telegram channel about fashion "Good Morning, Karl!" Katya Fedorova was fined 50,000 rubles for "discrediting" the Russian army. The human rights project "The First Department" writes about this.

On February 27, Katya Fedorova published an open letter on her Instagram against the war in Ukraine and called on designers, stylists and colleagues from the fashion world to sign it. According to human rights activists, at the end of November, "during the monitoring of the Internet" this post was discovered by Police Major Skvortsov.

On December 19, a protocol was drawn up against Fedorova on an administrative violation under the article on “discrediting” the Russian army. On January 10, the first court session was held, and four days later Fedorova was found guilty and ordered to pay a fine.

“Once again, we have seen how the Russian armed forces can be discredited by the call for peace talks. I suggest that the authorities open an explanatory dictionary and find out the meaning of the word “discredit” – and if, in their opinion, the call for peace talks undermines confidence in the use of the armed forces, then I have a question for the armed forces themselves, ”said Valeria, a lawyer for the First Department Vetoshkin.

“Well, in case the uncles on Petrovka read us again instead of catching real criminals. I repeat - NO WAR, ”Fedorova wrote on Instagram.

In February 2021, after the announcement of the verdict against Alexei Navalny, Fedorova launched a flash mob in social networks in support of the politician's wife Yulia. She urged to publish photos in red with the hashtag "don't be sad, everything will be fine." Navalny said these words to his wife after the judge read out the verdict.
