The government has submitted a bill to the Duma to transfer the annexed regions of Ukraine to the Moscow time zone. Russia does not fully control any of them

The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma a bill on transferring the regions of Ukraine annexed in 2022 to the Moscow time zone.

As stated in the explanatory note to the document, in these territories “Moscow time is already in effect.”

• Russia does not fully control any of the Ukrainian regions it announced its annexation of in September.
• The entire territory of Ukraine is in one time zone. In summer, the time there coincides with Moscow, in winter - it is an hour behind Moscow.
• The self-proclaimed DPR and LPR announced their transition to Moscow time back in 2014.
