A man suspected of setting a hotel on fire in Moscow, which led to the death of seven people, has been detained. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow.
The Investigative Committee did not provide any details about the identity of the detainee, only noting that he is a native of the Belgorod region. According to investigators, he committed the arson “out of hostility towards the residents of the hostel.”
According to Mash, the suspect's name is Yuri Khomchenko, he is 59 years old. The criminal case is being investigated under articles of murder of two or more persons and deliberate destruction of property in a generally dangerous manner.
