48 Russian governors fell under US sanctions

The United States imposed sanctions against 48 heads of Russian regions and nine ministers, according to the website of the State Department.

From the regions of Siberia and the Far East, the Governor of the Tomsk Region Vladimir Mazur, the Governor of the Omsk Region Alexander Burkov, the head of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev, the head of the Republic of Altai Oleg Khorokhordin, the head of the Tuva Vladislav Khovalyg, the Governor of the Irkutsk Region Igor Kobzev, the governor of the Khmao, Natalya Komarova, the head of the Khakassia Valentin, fell into the American black list. Among the justifications to include them in the list are the mobilization of residents of the regions.

The sanctions against the heads of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander USS, the Novosibirsk region Andrei Travnikov and the head of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko were already introduced in December.

The sanctions were also found by the Minister of Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexei Chekunkov, the wife of the ex-commander of the united grouping of troops in Ukraine Sergey Surovikin Anna and her company Argus Holding, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, TV presenter Olga Skabeeva and others.

Restrictive measures also affected 11 Russian banks, including Primorye Bank, as well as the import of aluminum - from May 10, the United States intends to impose 200 percent duty by the import of this metal. Export restrictions were introduced against MegaFon and the Skolkovo Innovation Center.

• The sanctions were introduced on the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Earlier, the United States was threatened with sanctions and Chinese companies in the event of supplies to Russia.
