"Rain": Hundreds of children who were taken out of the occupied territories of Ukraine are subjected to "military-patriotic education" in Russian orphanages

400 Ukrainian children exported from occupied territories to Russia were distributed in 24 orphanages and boarding schools in August. In 21 of them, children are subjected to a “military-patriotic test”, the Rain TV channel reports .

At the disposal of journalists was the correspondence of the Ministry of Education with the regional guardianship authorities.

According to her, at least 400 children were “evacuated” by the Russian army from institutions of self -proclaimed DPR and LPR, as well as the occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.

At first they were transported to the Kursk and Rostov points of temporary accommodation, and in August they were distributed on quotas into boarding schools throughout the country, journalists say.

“We counted at least 24 institutions, but there were clearly more of them, because, for example, the Moscow and Leningrad region did not report in this correspondence,” the material says.

Journalists studied the pages of institutions and found out that at least 21 of them, Ukrainian children, together with Russian, are forced to participate in “patriotic events”. For example, listen to the briefings of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in which they report “destroyed Nazis”, make trench candles, put military performances, learn to handle Kalashnikov’s automatic, write letters to the front to Russian soldiers and visit them in hospitals.

According to reporters, only 36 children out of 400 evacuated were distributed into foster families by mid -January of this year.

Earlier, the Laboratory of Humanitarian Studies of the Yale School of Public Health (Yale HRL) found 43 institutions in Russia, which contains children from Ukraine since the invasion of Russia to Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

“Most camps were engaged in pro -Russian re -education activities, and some camps conducted military training of children or suspended the return of children to their parents to Ukraine,” the report said.

According to Yale HRL, in Russia there are at least six thousand Ukrainian children under 17 years of age.

On January 18, the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Child Rights Daria Gerasimchuk spoke about the verification of data at least 13,899 children who were stolen and deported by the Russian army.

By February 8, 2023, 128 children previously exported to Russia were returned to Ukraine, the representative of the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yulia Usenko said .
