On the night of February 27, after a long illness, the famous Russian political scientist and political strategist Gleb Pavlovsky died at the age of 72. The well-known Russian gallery owner Marat Gelman wrote about this on his Facebook, as well as the Vedomosti newspaper, referring to a friend of the deceased, head of the Department of Local Self-Government at the National Research University Higher School of Economics Simon Kordonsky.
In Russia in the second half of the 90s and 2000s, Gleb Pavlovsky was known as the founder of a number of media outlets, the head of the Effective Policy Fund, and until the end of 2011, as an adviser to the head of the Russian presidential administration.
In the early 2000s, Pavlovsky worked on the election campaign of Vladimir Putin. Starting in 2012, political commentators began to attribute the political strategist to the opposition.
After the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Pavlovsky openly spoke out against the war.
