On February 28, at 20.03, the Yeisk News Telegram channel reported that in the southern part of the city "bucked twice, and some smoke on the street [formed]." After 40 minutes, a photograph of smoke on the local military airfield, made from afar, also appeared .
Only two hours later, Roman Bublik, the head of the Yeisk district, commented on the situation:
-On the territory of the Yeisk district, military tactical exercises are held, which we wrote about earlier. Observe calm. I always tell you about everything that is happening in the territory of the Yeisk district, so I ask you not to be led to provocations.
Military tactical exercises, which are reminiscent of a bagel, are held in the area from February 1 to May 31. Among the stated goals, including the development of airfield protection - with shooting at imitated air targets.
The exercises were promised to be held at the landfill in the area of the village of Vorontsovka and the village of Morskoy - the airport is just near them. However, announcing them, the representative of the military colonel Sergei Grishkov noted that "the launch of targets is possible outside the boundaries of the land landfill."
In parallel with the statement of the head of the district, information appeared that the next attack of Ukrainian UAVs allegedly occurred in Yeysk, as if two ships of the Tu-141 “School” were shot down on the approach to the military airport.
Recall that on the same night one drone probably provoked a fire at the oil depot in Tuapse (Krasnodar Territory), and the other fell in the village of Novy in neighboring Adygea.
By 23 o’clock, the situation was commented on in the State Emergencies Ministry of Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory. They reported that no applications from worried citizens received the department, but the rescuers checked the information from the Internet - the situation in the airport area, according to them, was calm.
