Russian payment system KoronaPay limits transfers abroad from several major Russian cards

The KoronaPay payment system has limited transfers of funds to overseas accounts from cards issued by a number of major Russian banks, which are subject to Western sanctions. Affected banks include Tinkoff, Alfa-Bank, and Sberbank.

The service said that they “had to abide by the requirements of partners making direct payments of transfers in other countries,” and that their partners were “unwilling to violate the sanctions regimes” imposed by Western countries.
