Kursk authorities did not approve a rally against the construction of an ammonia plant

The administration of Kursk refused to agree on a rally against the construction of a plant for the production of mineral fertilizers, including ammonia. This is reported by the telegram channel "Secondochka".

The action with the number of participants up to a thousand people was planned to be held on March 11 on the square in front of the Kursk Circus. The notification for the event was submitted by local eco-activist Tatiana Bondarenko. In the application, Bondarenko indicated that the campaign slogans “We are against the construction of a fiber plant!” and “We need clean air and healthy children!”.

The mayor’s office told the activist that at the moment any mass events are prohibited in Kursk due to the “yellow” level of terrorist threat established in the region and the medium response level announced by Vladimir Putin.

• In 2020, it became known about the intentions of the chemical company Kuibyshevazot to build a plant for the production of mineral fertilizers in the Kursk region. Construction was scheduled for 2023, which has recently been opposed by local residents. Active protests began after the news that the deputies of the city Assembly made changes to the general plan of Kursk, moving the boundaries of the regional center. The protesters believe that this was done in order to build a gas pipeline, and in the future - an ammonia plant.
