
The Prosecutor General’s Office recognized Transparency International “unwanted” by the organization in Russia, the press service of the department reports.
Details . The Prosecutor General’s Office believes that Transparency International “poses a threat to the basics of the constitutional system” of Russia, as it “interferes with the country's internal affairs”, “formally acting as an organization fighting corruption”.
The department added that "the activities of this organization clearly go beyond the declared goals and objectives." How exactly - the department decided not to explain.
What is Transparency International . This is a non -governmental international organization to combat corruption and study the level of corruption around the world. In 2015, the Russian branch of Transparenational International was recognized as a “foreign agent”, in 2022 this status was assigned to his head Ilya Shumanov.
General picture . Since the beginning of 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized five organizations “undesirable” in Russia: the Free Nations League , the Forum of Free Russia , the Medusa Foundation, the Andrei Sakharov Foundation , as well as Transparency International.
