The Isakogorsky District Court of Arkhangelsk satisfied the claim of IK-7 against the ex-head of Navalny’s local headquarters, Andrei Borovikov, for administrative supervision over him. This is reported by SOTA.
According to the court decision, after his release Borovikov will have a two-year period of supervision, during which he is required to come to the supervisory authority twice a month.
Previously, Borovikov was transferred to strict conditions of detention in a colony. The reason for this was the violations that the administration charged the man with: because of them, he was placed in a punishment cell four times.
In April 2021, Borovikov was sentenced to 2.5 years in a general regime colony. He was found guilty in the case of distributing pornography (clause “b”, part 3, article 242 of the Criminal Code) because of Rammstein’s video for the song Pussy.
According to investigators, the activist published this video in 2014 on VKontakte. To collect evidence in the case, the security forces recruited one of the former volunteers of Navalny’s headquarters, who had previously headed Borovikov. A volunteer came to the meeting with listening devices and recorded the conversation with the activist.
In July 2021, the appellate court reduced Borovikov's sentence by three months. Then his period of stay in the colony was reduced by one day. In August 2022, the court refused to replace the remainder of the sentence with a non-custodial sentence.
