On March 7, the command of the 30th OMBR (a separate mechanized brigade) named after Prince Konstantin Ostrozhsky was transferred to the Ministry of Defense: according to preliminary data, the hero’s name is Timofei Shadur. Timothy was considered missing from February 3, 2023, after hostilities in the Bakhmut area. Now, they specified in the brigade, the body is located in a temporarily occupied territory.

On February 14, in the city of Nezhin, Chernihiv region, they said goodbye to two fellow countrymen, APU fighters Sergey Savchenko and Alexander Matsievsky, who died on the eve of the new one, 2023. There was little known about the circumstances of their death. The remains of Alexander Matsievsky were returned from the occupied territories during the exchange, an examination and identification were carried out in the morgue. The photo report from the funeral was published by the local publication “Hour CherniGivsky”. Three weeks later, the 19-year-old son of Matsievsky, Mikhail, found on the network the very eleven seconds. Mother, Praskovya Mikhailovna, also looked. I found the strength to meet with the colleagues of Alexander from the 163rd battalion of the 119th separate brigade of the Trocks of the Chernihiv region, the guys came home home. Then the journalist Yuri Butusov talked with them, setting out in detail from their words and special signs, according to which it was possible to identify the deceased, and the circumstances that led to the tragedy. In particular, Butusov wrote that he has a photo from the morgue, in which bullet holes in those places where bullets on the video were clearly visible are clearly visible.

From all of what was said followed: the name of the name is Alexander Matsievsky. At the same time, the journalist emphasized: for the final conclusion, one should wait for an official examination, which will either confirm or refute this version. The already existing resonance in society and the pain of many families, where there are missing fighters, demanded a maximum careful attitude. The last telephone conversation of Alexander and his mother took place on December 29. The fact that the unit holds a position near Bakhmut, of course, did not sound a word. The platoon of Matsievsky was transferred to the Bakhmut area in November. In a month, they became in the full sense fired. When the Russians broke through the front in one of the sites, Teroboronsev was sent to help. Alexander served as a sniper in a company of fire support. On December 30, they were attacked on the flank. The battle lasted twelve hours. The Nezhin Teroboron withheld the Forest Department and all positions, except one: at noon, confirms the regional department of the Tro North forces of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, the connection with the Matsievsky group disappeared.

For certain reasons (I continue to quote the investigation of Butusov already mentioned above), Matsievsky did not go to his last battle with sniper equipment, but with a conventional machine gun. About two weeks before the lesson day, the man was injured over the eyebrow, turned to the medical unit, hence the patch, noticeable in the video. The green Chevron of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which the platoon commander gave the fighter, was also a sign - Alexander refused to remove the strip at the request of the Russians. “His voice, his facial expressions, his figure, his manner of holding on is no doubt,” the commander of the Matsievsky unit was heavily dropped in an interview with the “suspended”. The 42-year-old Alexander, before the invasion, worked as an electrician in Kyiv. He had no army experience. On February 24, he returned home, in Nezhin, and went to sign up for territorial defense.

On the website of the President of Ukraine, several petitions were registered at once with a proposal to assign Alexander Matsievsky the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumous). The signatures arrived rapidly. On March 9, the head of the presidential office Andrei Ermak promised to reporters: the name of the deceased will officially name the office of the Prosecutor General or Security Service of Ukraine, but they need some time for examinations.

Last Sunday, in the evening, a message appeared on the SBU website with reference to the head of the Vasily Malyuk service: the warrior’s personality was completely confirmed.
