The leader of the group “Accident” Alexey Kortnev was banned from performing at the museum of the city of Votkinsk in Udmurtia, because he is allegedly a “foreign agent” - although the musician is not on the register of the Ministry of Justice. “7×7” reports this.
On April 9, the museum was supposed to host “Uchuchudu Music Weekend,” an educational project about creating and producing songs. According to the co-founder of the project, Alexander Karenin-Smakotin, the head of the museum called him and said that Kortnev would not be able to participate in the event: she was allegedly summoned to the “competent authorities”, where they said that the presence of a “foreign agent” would create “problems” for the site.
“We are faced with a real abolition of Russian culture directly in the place where it is based,” Karenin-Smakotin told reporters.
The organizers decided to move “Uchuchudu Music Weekend” to another venue.
Alexey Kortnev regularly speaks negatively about the actions of the Russian authorities: for example, in 2011 he participated in a rally against election fraud on Sakharov Avenue, in 2017 he recorded a video for allowing Navalny to participate in the presidential elections, and in 2022 he condemned the invasion of Ukraine.
Over the past year, the musician's performances have been disrupted or interrupted at least in Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk .
