North Korea said that she had an imitation of a nuclear explosion using tactical ballistic missiles of the Earth -Earth class. This was reported by the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (CST).

According to CST, the launch was carried out from the surroundings of Pyongyang east. The conditional goal was at sea near the coast of the province of Hamghen-Poom. Imitation of a nuclear explosion was carried out at an altitude of 500 meters.

The Japanese Ministry of Defense reported that the DPRK launched two ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan, noted Kyodo. They flew about 350 kilometers, the maximum flight height is 50 kilometers.

This is the 10th missile launch of North Korea since the beginning of the year, of which eight are with ballistic missiles.

During 2022, the DPRK produced 37 launches and in total launched about 70 missiles of different range. During these teachings, the DPRK systematically launched missiles towards Japan and South Korea.
North Korea programs for the development of ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons are prohibited by resolutions of the UN Security Council. However, Pyongyang states that the development of weapons is necessary to counteract the "hostile policy" of Washington and its allies.
At the end of January, the US and South Korean defense ministers agreed to expand the program of joint military exercises. The parties also plan to expand the American presence in the region and deliver the F-22, F-35 fighters there and aircraft carriers with nuclear engines.
