The opposition in Turkey requires to withdraw from the elections the candidacy of Erdogan

In Turkey, three opposition parties demanded that the current head of state Recep Erdogan be removed from the presidential election. An appeal to the highest election commission of the country was sent by a good party, a party of democracy and a breakthrough, as well as the party of the Fatherland. The opposition supports the chief opponent of Erdogan Kemal Kylychdaroglu.

According to the authors of the appeal to the election commander, the nomination of the current president is contrary to the Turkish Constitution, since its current term is the second in a row. Ankara claims that after the Constitutional referendum of 2017, the presidential terms of Erdogan was nourished.

The election of the President of Turkey will be held on May 14. They were not transferred, despite the recent earthquake, whose victims were more than 50 thousand people.

Erdogan and Kylychdaroglu are the favorites of the election race. In their campaigns, the theme of the earthquake prevails. The main complaint of the opposition to President Erdogan is the poor preparation of the authorities to overcome the consequences of destructive underground shocks and the shortcomings in providing assistance to the victims.

Recent surveys show that the opposition candidate may gain more votes than the current president. At the same time, some sociologists admit that ultimately the percentage of votes may be similar.
