The mayor of Vorkuta will go to fight in Ukraine

Vorkuta mayor Yaroslav Shaposhnikov signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. Earlier, he argued that men are going to war due to “sawing” their wives. The contract was reported by BNK on March 28.

Yaroslav Shaposhnikov signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense to go to fight to Ukraine. Together with him, five more colleagues from the Vorkuta City Hall will go to the front. How many Shaposhnikov will leave the republic - it is not reported.

The head of the Communist Party of the Communist Party in the Komi State Council Viktor Vorobyov suggested that the mayor’s desire to go to Ukraine is not connected with patriotic feelings, but the opportunity to avoid criminal prosecution. In March in Vorkut, the prosecutor's office opened a second criminal case under an article on negligence after the collapse of treatment facilities.

In the fall of 2022, Shaposhnikov stated that men go to war volunteers because they were "sawing their wives."

In November 2022, the mayor of Chita, Alexander Sapozhnikov, resigned of his own free will and left for Ukraine. He referred to his experience with the paratrooper and said that he was ready to defend his homeland.

The Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev also voiced the intention to go to the front. But he complained that, with all his desire, he could not “quit the post” of the head of the region. After that, more than 62 thousand Russians signed a petition with a request to dismiss Degtyarev from his post so that he could fulfill his dream.
