French, German and Spanish have disappeared from the curriculum. Enrollment in the new course in these languages ​​is no longer available, but they are still available to those who studied them before the program change.

Now students are offered two hours of English and Chinese. Due to the fact that there is a shortage in the study groups, the university “compulsorily” requires enrolling in Chinese courses.

The MIPT press service explained the changes by saying that “by 2030, up to half of all technical and engineering documentation will be published in the language of the eastern neighbor.”

The students could not agree with the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which is responsible for the new curriculum, so they created a petition against innovations.

Students wrote on social networks that “you can’t do without a riot.” According to them, they do not respond to the objections of students and teachers, so you need to "do something real: pickets, boycotts, letters."
