After the start of a full -scale war in Ukraine, Russians sharply grew interest in esotericism, Vedomosti and Kommersant reported.

In particular, in 2023, the audience of online fortune-telling, tarot and astrology grew by almost twenty times, journalists write with reference to analysts counting. From these data it follows that according to the results of 2022, Russians spent about 6.6 billion rubles on esoterica courses.

Experts surveyed by the publications consider the interest of Russians in esotericism logical and associate it with an attempt by people to regain a sense of control over the situation in a crisis period.
