Alexander Kudryavtsev is far from the only Russian scientist who holds an important post at the State Institute and adheres, to put it mildly, very extravagant scientific views. We offer a selection of several other anti -scientific theories and their apologists.
Oleg Epstein is a pharmacologist and a scientist with great experience, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the head of the Laboratory at the Research Institute of General Pathology and Pathophysiology. At the same time, he is one of the main popularizers of homeopathy - a method of treatment based on “ultra -small doses”, which is recognized in the whole world that has not had proven effectiveness.
In 2017, the commission to combat the pseudoscience under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences issued the memorandum “On the Adverse of Homeopathy”, in response to this, Oleg Epstein filed a lawsuit against the commission.

The fact is that for Epstein the struggle for homeopathy is a question of not only scientific beliefs, but also personal well -being: in the first six months of 2018, his company Material Holding lost half a billion profit, since the Homeopathic preparations of Anaferon and Ergoferon began to be bought less often. Mass-spectrometric analysis (a method of research and identification of a substance that allows you to determine the concentration of various components in it) of these drugs, conducted by the vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexei Khokhlov, showed that they have exclusively sugar that will not help a patient with SARS.
Oleg Epstein, however, declares : "Our scientific works have essentially allowed to create a new class of biological drugs." The medicines are really unique - in the instructions for use in the pharmacokinetics section it is written that they are not detected:
From the instructions:
“The sensitivity of modern physicochemical methods of analysis does not allow to evaluate the content of the active substance of the Anaferon drug in biological fluids, organs and tissues, which makes the study of pharmacokinetics technically impossible.”
The head of the department of differential geometry and applications at the Mehmat of Moscow State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatoly Fomenko recently decided to go to the sphere of humanities - history. He put forward his theory, which offers an extremely unusual view of the history of mankind: it turns out that in the Middle Ages there was a giant empire with a political center in the European part of Russia. She allegedly covered almost all of Eurasia and, according to the latest editions, even America. But this is not all - the authors of works on the “New Chronology” (by 2011 more than 100 books with a circulation of about 800 thousand copies were published) claim that the written history of mankind is short and is not traced further than the 10th century AD. The ancient states and monuments of ancient culture - architecture, painting and sculpture - belong to later cultures.

An employee of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMS) Sergey Konovalov became an object of hostility at once - and, as a rule, the warring - the parties: wounds and clergy. His informational and energy teaching tells, according to his own annotation, "about the origin of life on Earth and about the subtlest levels of the interaction of particles of the universe." Dr. Konovalov himself calls himself an intermediary between the cosmic mind and people, saying: "I take your pain." Theories are already 30 years old, and only in 2013 the scientific community paid attention to it, calling it occultist.

Vladimir Voeovikov - Deputy Head of the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry at the Biofac of Moscow State University - is known for the development of pseudo -scientific drugs: they can be downloaded. But in order to recover, it is necessary to record them on CD, and lower the disk into the water to charge it. The theme of one of his speeches sounds like this-“The influence of the“ information copies ”of the pre-cooker and the arbidol, transferred to CDs, on the energy activity of artesian waters.”
In addition, Vladimir Voeikov took part as a scientist and speaker in the film “The Great Secret of Water”, which was shown on the Rossiya TV channel and even received a TEFI award. The film studies in detail the properties of water: for example, under a microscope, they consider the water, which they say “thank you”, “sorry” and “you are disgusted” - the water supposedly reacts to such influences.

Director of the Research Institute of Space Systems named after M.V. In 2008, Khrunicheva decided that the anniversary satellite would be able to move from the orbit of the earth without reactive traction, and established there that later in the media he called “gravitsa” . The engine based on friction in bearings - the so -called "inertzoid", against which the commission to combat pseudoscience under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences has repeatedly opposed - cannot work in zero gravity. The principle of the device is contrary to the laws of physics, but Roscosmos did not give up-at the Research Institute of the KS they stated that the engine still works.

The test authors in 2010 reported that the results of the experiment were "ambiguous." In general, it was not possible to move the satellite from the orbit, and in the annual ballot “In Defense of Science” the academician and chairman of the commission of pseudoscience Edward Kruglyakov wrote:
Gravitsapa caused a tangible damage to the prestige of Russia. ”
MP Boris Gryzlov stood up for the experimenters, who said : “I know that the Academy of Sciences even has a pseudoscience department. This fact is very surprising: how can they take responsibility and say what is pseudoscience and what is not? This is some kind of obscurant. ”
Mikhail Kovalchuk, a physicist, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and President of the Kurchatov Institute, became the main pioneer of pseudoscientific statements to support the political course of the Russian authorities. So, in 2015, he, speaking in the Federation Council, anticipated any statements by the Russian authorities of 2022 about biological weapons, saying that there is a risk of creating a “service person”-a new subspecies of Homo sapiens. It feeds exclusively with GMO products and easily control, since it has a “limited self -awareness”.
