
Finland will join NATO tomorrow, April 4. The alliance was announced today at a press conference in Brussels. This was reported by the Finnish edition of NRK.
“Tomorrow we will greet Finland as a 31st NATO member. We will first raise the Finnish flag at the headquarters, ”said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
He added that the process of joining NATO Sweden should also pass quickly.
Context. On March 23, Finland President Sauli Ninista signed laws on the country's entry into NATO. In July 2022, the Foreign Minister of Finland and Sweden signed protocols on the entry into NATO.

One of the reasons for the invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the expansion of NATO and the promotion of the alliance infrastructure to the borders of Russia from the territory of Ukraine. However, against the background of hostilities, Sweden and Finland, bordering Russia, decided to join NATO. On June 29, the countries received an official invitation to NATO, and Turkey, which had previously prevented the entry of two states into the Alliance, removed its objections.
The Kremlin said that the situation with Finland and Sweden differs from Ukrainian, since Russia has no territorial disputes with these two countries. Deputy Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars Dmitry Medvedev said that the entry of Finland and Sweden into the Alliance "does not threaten."
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense reported the formation of 12 military units and units in the north-west. In April, May and June, Petersburgers noticed columns of military equipment, which, supposedly, was moved to the border with Finland - they denied the transfer of troops in the call.
