Belarus: convicted Russian woman Sofu Sapagu will be transferred to the Russian Federation

In Belarus, the procedure for transferring to the Russian Federation convicted Russians Sophia Sapieha was launched. This was reported by TASS with reference to her lawyer Anton Gashinsky. At the same time, the defender refused to clarify the terms of transfer.

The 24-year-old Russian woman was sentenced to six years in prison on charges of inciting social hostility, violence or threat of violence against internal affairs officers. According to investigators, she modified the telegram channel in which the personal data of the employees of the Belarusian law enforcement agencies were published, participating in repressions against the opposition.

At the end of July, the father of Sapega paid for a fine assigned to Sofya, which prevented her of possible extradition to Russia or presidential pardon. The amount of the fine is 175 thousand Belarusian rubles (about 4 million Russian rubles). In January, it became known that Sapega was filled with pardon.

The petition for the transfer of Sapieha to the Russian colony was filed by her parents. Now she is in a female colony in Gomel.

In March, Sapega was included in the list of "persons involved in terrorism."

• Sofya Sapga was detained with his young man Roman Protasevich, a former administrator of the Nexta telegram channel on May 23, 2021 after an emergency landing in Minsk Ryanair, which was sent from Athens to Vilnius.
• Soon after the detention, Protasevich began to speak in the state Belarusian media with criticism of his former associates. Subsequently, he was released from the pre -trial detention center.
