Five security officials were arrested in Kaliningrad. They are suspected of torturing detainees

The Leningradsky District Court of Kaliningrad arrested five security officials suspected of abuse of power committed with the use of torture (Part 4 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code). This is reported by the publication "New Kaliningrad" with reference to the press service of the court.

We are talking about two employees of the National Guard, the head of the operational-search department of the Kaliningrad regional customs, an operative of the department of internal security of the transport police, as well as an employee of the Economic Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The name of only the customs officer is known - Nikita Sadovsky.

According to investigators, as part of the investigation of the criminal case, the security forces used violence against seven citizens. Mediazona notes that this happened during searches in the apartments of those suspected of illegal business and possession of tobacco products.

Men were beaten and tortured with electric current, demanding confessions from them. The victims reported the beatings and contacted the police. The arrested security officials do not admit guilt.
