Local authorities did not comment on the information about the project, and the protesters were supported by MMA fighters. Rumors about the construction of a mosque on Holy Lake

In February, rumors appeared about the construction of a huge mosque near the Holy Lake in the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district of Moscow. The legend of the drowned church is associated with this reservoir. The reliability of this legend has not been established, but every year in the summer, a procession to the holy lake is made from the complex of Kosinsky churches, it is noted on one of the local sites.

One version of the legend of Holy Lake

According to legend, once on the site of the saint of the lake there was a small church, and a priest who performed the service lived with it. Once, during a dream, he was a vision that the city of Moscow would appear at the place where the Kremlin is now located, and that great glory awaits him, although he would suffer a lot of trials from fires and an invasion of enemies. Then both of them entered the church and with tears prayed to God and the Most Holy Mother for the entire Orthodox people and for the future city of Moscow. Some members of the group immediately began to write that “they want to build a mosque,” ​​and began to convince the rest that they own reliable information. The editors of Novaya Gazeta Europe tried to contact these people to clarify where they learned about the construction of the mosque, but could not get an operational comment from any users who spoke in support of this version.

A few days later, the Ridus publication reported that "in Moscow they intend to build the largest mosque in the country, the area of ​​which is four times higher than the Cathedral of Christ the Savior." At the same time, the metropolitan department of construction said to reporters that they were not building mosques, and rumors did not comment on the committee on architecture and urban planning of Moscow.

In March, on the air of the Spas television channel, the director of the Destructor of the Destructology of the MGLU Roman Silantiev said that data on the construction of the Muslim center in this area was confirmed. The reaction of local residents

Despite the lack of confirming information from the authorities, local residents decided to fight the likely construction of the Muslim center. In March, on Change.org, a petition was published against the appearance of a mosque on Holy Lake. At the moment, it was signed by more than 27 thousand people.

“The construction of the mosque is unacceptable, since the spread of the idea of ​​the denial of the deity of Jesus Christ will lead to any deterioration in life,” the description of the petition says.

According to the telegram channel “Caution, Moscow”, in March, the man buried his pork head in the territory of the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district at the site of the possible construction of a large mosque. It is alleged that the police detained the suspect and conducts an audit on the fact of insulting the feelings of believers.

Also, local residents went to protest. One of the most loud ones took place in early April. The pro-government telegram channel Readovka writes that parishioners from several cities gathered in the temple on the Holy Lake for Molebn to support the preservation of the place. The organizers of this action allegedly proposed to transfer the construction of the mosque to another place.

“We are not against Muslims at all, as some try to imagine it. But, firstly, those who live here for decades deserve honest information. And, secondly, why build a mosque next to the Orthodox shrines? We live peacefully next to Muslims, and they themselves understand that for us these are sacred places. Muslims who live in this area themselves against the construction of a mosque in the territory where there are so many Orthodox shrines. A fighter of MMA Maxim Divnich opposed the construction of the mosque. According to Sports.ru, the ex-boots of UFC Konstantin Erokhin, boxer Alexei Papin and Mikhail Tarabrin from Hardcore also took part in the gathering.

“It’s scary to imagine that somewhere in Grozny or Makhachkala in a saint for Muslims a place will be built by an Orthodox temple,” said Divnich.

Construction transfer
