As a result, Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin made concessions and transferred construction to a site near the Kosino metro.
In February, rumors appeared about the construction of a huge mosque near the Holy Lake in the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district of Moscow. The legend of the drowned church is associated with this reservoir. The reliability of this legend has not been established, but every year in the summer, a procession to the holy lake is made from the complex of Kosinsky churches, it is noted on one of the local sites.
One version of the legend of Holy Lake
According to legend, once on the site of the saint of the lake there was a small church, and a priest who performed the service lived with it. Nearby stood a dense forest, where the desert of the bukil laid. Once, during a dream, he was a vision that the city of Moscow would appear at the place where the Kremlin is now located, and that great glory awaits him, although he would suffer a lot of trials from fires and an invasion of enemies. He thought for a long time a buking about his vision, and then went to the deserted village of Kosino and told the priest about his vision. Then both of them entered the church and with tears prayed to God and the Most Holy Mother for the entire Orthodox people and for the future city of Moscow. The priest began to perform the Divine Liturgy; During the cherubic song, the Mother of God appeared above them, and the church began to fall into the ground, water came out of the ground, and the lake formed. For many years there was no temple here, but people believed that under the waves of the lake there was no prayer of the holy elders for the Orthodox people and for the city of Moscow, and that this prayer is pleasing to God.
In the group in VK “Kozhukhovo in the photographs” an anonymous post with photographs of the construction site appeared . Administrators also published supposedly the visualization of the project of the religious and educational center.

“Today, in the wasteland opposite the Dmitrievsky residential complex, construction wagons began to unload building wagons behind Saltykovskaya Street. At the moment, there are five versions of what they are going to build there:
Shopping center (as the builders themselves said in the morning);
school (as the builders themselves said during the day);
mosque (the most interesting version);
TPU (long-lived version; building TPU is going to build here since 2015);
The site of the builders of the overpasses and the interchanges of the Kosinsky highway - Saltykovskaya Street (the project is also relatively close), ”says the post.
Some members of the group immediately began to write that “they want to build a mosque,” and began to convince the rest that they own reliable information. The editors of Novaya Gazeta Europe tried to contact these people to clarify where they learned about the construction of the mosque, but could not get an operational comment from any users who spoke in support of this version.
A few days later, the Ridus publication reported that "in Moscow they intend to build the largest mosque in the country, the area of which is four times higher than the Cathedral of Christ the Savior." At the same time, the metropolitan department of construction said to reporters that they were not building mosques, and rumors did not comment on the committee on architecture and urban planning of Moscow.
In March, on the air of the Spas television channel, the director of the Destructor of the Destructology of the MGLU Roman Silantiev said that data on the construction of the Muslim center in this area was confirmed. He said that a shopping center, as well as a hotel complex and the Islamic Academy, will be built to ensure the work of the mosque.
Also, MSK1.ru, with reference to the minutes of the meeting of the Urban Planning Committee of Moscow, wrote that an object of educational and religious purposes will be placed within the boundaries of the TPU Dmitrievsky TPU. The photo of this document is at the disposal of the editorial office of msk1.ru, but so far the authorities have not confirmed or denied the authenticity of the document, the media noted.
Officially, on the site between the Kosinsky highway and Saltykovskaya Street, the technological part of the transport hub (TPU) of the metro station Dmitrievsky metro station is being built.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Russia, Damir Mukhetdinov, in a conversation with Mosland, said that he learned about the possible construction of a mosque from the media.
“We do not own information about such a project in the spiritual management. We did not plan to build anything there, especially when it comes to such a large complex. We also have no such opportunities, ”he said.
Also, the Administration of the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district and the Prefecture of the Wao said that they did not plan to build religious facilities as part of the specified contract.
Despite the lack of confirming information from the authorities, local residents decided to fight the likely construction of the Muslim center. In March, on Change.org, a petition was published against the appearance of a mosque on Holy Lake. At the moment, it was signed by more than 27 thousand people.
“The construction of the mosque is unacceptable, since the spread of the idea of the denial of the deity of Jesus Christ will lead to any deterioration in life,” the description of the petition says.

According to the telegram channel “Caution, Moscow”, in March, the man buried his pork head in the territory of the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district at the site of the possible construction of a large mosque. It is alleged that the police detained the suspect and conducts an audit on the fact of insulting the feelings of believers.
Also, local residents went to protest. One of the most loud ones took place in early April. The pro-government telegram channel Readovka writes that parishioners from several cities gathered in the temple on the Holy Lake for Molebn to support the preservation of the place. The organizers of this action allegedly proposed to transfer the construction of the mosque to another place.
“We are not against Muslims at all, as some try to imagine it. But, firstly, those who live here for decades deserve honest information. And, secondly, why build a mosque next to the Orthodox shrines? We live peacefully next to Muslims, and they themselves understand that for us these are sacred places. Muslims who live in this area themselves against the construction of a mosque in the territory where there are so many Orthodox shrines. If now the indigenous population with visitors live peacefully, then this construction is guaranteed to sow enmity, ”Tsargrad quotes opponents of construction.
A fighter of MMA Maxim Divnich opposed the construction of the mosque. According to Sports.ru, the ex-boots of UFC Konstantin Erokhin, boxer Alexei Papin and Mikhail Tarabrin from Hardcore also took part in the gathering.

“It’s scary to imagine that somewhere in Grozny or Makhachkala in a saint for Muslims a place will be built by an Orthodox temple,” said Divnich.
He later complained that they began to threaten him because of his speech against the construction of the mosque. According to him, he had to think about the end of his career, since "at conferences, battles - 90% of Muslims."
Divnich was supported by MMA fighter Vladimir Mineev. According to him, the mosque could be built somewhere else, and not on Holy Lake. He invited all aggressive “to come here to the front line” (meaning the front line) in order to prove himself in the fight against fascism and “Western ideology of permissiveness and controversial”.
Also, the video against the construction of the mosque was recorded by certain men in military uniform. They introduced themselves to the fighters “Svo” and stated that “they would not allow to shame their faith Orthodox,” and officials will have to personally answer them.

To the words of Maxim Divnich was one of the first to react to the Hasbik blogger. He advised Divnich “not to go here to us anymore,” and also stated that Maxim could no longer go to Makhachkala for fees.
Later, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, paid attention to the video near the temple. He called on everyone who opens against the construction of the mosque to show their patriotism at the front.
“If all these participants in the rally with all their souls and heart came out with the idea of protecting the Russian land, then forward in trenches with a machine gun! Do not face the vast expanses of the Russian land on the front line, which must be protected every day. Take the machine gun, push the shoulder of the Muslim, who is fighting in the Russian Donbass instead of you today, ”Kadyrov wrote in his telegram channel.
He also called performances against the construction of the mosque “open provocation” and “an attempt to make a split between citizens of one country”. In his opinion, protesters act to please Western interests.
“Such instigators must either be mobilized in order to splash out all anger at the enemy, or sent to court as information saboteurs acting for the sake of Satanists. Cowards and provocateurs, ”said the head of Chechnya.
On April 5, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the location of the future mosque would be changed. Under it, the Earth will be allocated next to the Kosino metro station.
“On the one hand, the mosque will not interfere with residents of nearby houses. On the other hand, it will be in good transport accessibility, ”wrote in his telegram channel.
Sobyanin noted that the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, as well as the chairman of the spiritual department of the Muslims of the Russian Federation, Ravil Gainutdin, was asked about the transfer of construction. He also emphasized that the authorities had not previously made the final decision on the place of the mosque. The proposal was considered only preliminaryly at the Urban Planning and Earth Commission.
The mayor of Moscow also denied rumors about the huge size of the mosque. As a result, the construction will not be occupied by 40 thousand square meters. m., but only 2.5 thousand square meters. m.
