The man accused of setting fire to a military registration and enlistment office in the Krasnodar Territory has his term of detention in a pre-trial detention center extended

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar in October 2022 arrested Boris Goncharenko, a suspect in the arson of the military registration and enlistment office in the city of Goryachy Klyuch - today his detention in the pre-trial detention center was extended until June 6. According to investigators, on the night of October 6, 2022, school teacher Boris Goncharenko and his accomplice Bogdan Abdurakhmanov threw four Molotov cocktails at the door of the military registration and enlistment office and disappeared. An employee of the military registration and enlistment office managed to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived. On October 7, both were detained.

Initially, the men were charged with attempted damage to property by arson (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code with the use of Part 3 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code), but then the charge was reclassified as committing a terrorist attack by a group of persons causing significant damage (paragraphs “a”, “c” » Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code). On October 24, the court decided to send Goncharenko and Abdurakhmanov into custody.

The investigation believes that they committed the arson “due to disagreement with the conduct of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine and the partial mobilization of citizens of the Russian Federation, in order to influence the decision of the Russian authorities to stop them.”
