Beglov prepared a bill to dissolve the council of deputies who advocated Putin’s resignation

Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov prepared a draft law on the dissolution of the council of deputies of the Smolninskoye municipality, whose members had previously asked to remove Vladimir Putin for treason. It is reported by ZAKS.Ru.

The draft law will undergo anti-corruption expertise until April 18, after which the governor will be able to send it to the city's legislative assembly.

Earlier, the City Court of St. Petersburg approved the decision of the Smolninsky District Court to recognize the Council of Deputies as inactive.

In September 2022, the deputies of the Smolninsky district addressed the State Duma with a proposal to remove Putin from office due to the consequences of the unleashed war.

Two days later, it became known that five deputies of the municipal district, including Nikita Yuferev and Dmitry Baltrukov, had been issued protocols on discrediting the Russian army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

In October 2022, Yuferev and Baltrukov left Russia.

In the local elections of 2019 in the municipality "Smolninskoye" "United Russia" was defeated. However, the victorious oppositionists for a long time failed to elect the head of the municipality. Grigory Rankov, who lost the United Russia election, remained in charge of the work as acting head, notes ZAKS.Ru.

After a long conflict with a significant part of the council, he stopped calling meetings. A group of deputies held them on their own initiative on the porch of the council's office. The courts did not recognize the legitimacy of the decisions taken at these meetings.
