A protocol was drawn up against the Ural Protestant priest to “discredit” the army. He promised help to “those who escaped from mogilization”

A Protestant priest and rector of the Convent of Mercy for the Homeless Eduard Charov from the Sverdlovsk Region was charged under an administrative article on “discrediting” the Russian army. He wrote about this on his page in VKontakte.

Kommersant, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, reported that Charov was detained and a protocol was drawn up against him because of his posts on social networks. According to the publication, during the survey, he did not retract his words. His case will be submitted to court next week.

After the start of mobilization in Russia, Charov wrote on his VKontakte page that he was ready to provide temporary shelter, food and travel expenses to conscripts who were fleeing "moGilization". In addition, Charov called Vladimir Putin the “antichrist”, opposed the war in Ukraine and criticized the Russian Orthodox Church.

"Mediazona" writes that earlier Charov founded the "Christian Convent of Mercy", and also opened a shelter for the homeless called "For Christ's sake" in the village of Savinovo. According to the publication, it was in this shelter that he proposed to hide those who were fleeing from the mobilization.

Eduard Charov is a neo-Pentecostal priest. In the Russian Orthodox Church, this direction of Protestantism is considered a sect.
