The Gorno-Altai City Court refused to consider the criminal case of military "fakes" against the founder of the independent newspaper "Listok" Sergei Mikhailov. The materials were returned to the prosecutor's office, according to Network Freedoms.
According to investigators, in the spring of 2022 Mikhailov posted nine posts on the Listok.ru telegram channel. News of the Altai Republic. They dealt with the destruction of the hospital in Mariupol, the death of people, as well as the destruction of the Mariupol theater. In addition, he is charged with publishing on the publication's website about the killings of civilians in Bucha.
Mikhailov was detained on April 13, 2022 in Moscow and transferred to Gorno-Altaisk. Since then, he has been in jail. The man does not admit his guilt.
Mikhailov's lawyer, Alexandra Sadkovskaya, stated at the preliminary hearing that the investigation did not provide evidence of the journalist's involvement in the publications imputed to him.
According to Network Freedoms, the editor-in-chief of Listok, Viktor Rau, said earlier that it was he who posted these materials. At the end of June 2022, Rau was fined 120 thousand rubles under the article on calls for sanctions. The reason was a note in which the journalist asked to send the names of Russian officials who supported the war.
