"Cold" tells two stories when adults decided to return to school, although they were already about 30 years old. To do this, they came up with new names and forged documents - this is how it was.

She became a schoolgirl at 29 to "regain a sense of security"

Headzhon Shin was born in South Korea and at the age of 16 moved to the USA to enter the boarding school in Massachusetts. In 2019, Shin graduated from the University of Ratger in New Jersey, where she studied political science and Chinese. There, she was engaged in research and said that she was most interested in language and linguistics, as well as their influence on human identity and culture. The tires, she said, was fond of meditation and loved to sing when there was no one nearby.

After receiving a diploma, Shin began to study in a magistracy, but could not get a job. Lawyer Shin explained this to reporters by the fact that in 2020 she survived a heavy divorce. For the same reason, tires allegedly expired the rent for the apartment near the university in which she lived. The debt by 2022 amounted to almost 20 thousand dollars.

Perhaps, due to the current situation, tires drew attention to the New Brunswick High school: it is about five kilometers from her house. Shin provided a fake birth certificate-and in January 2023 she became a student. In this school, she attended classes, talked with classmates and, according to them, wrote them messages and offered to meet outside the school.

Four days later, school staff nevertheless opened her deception. The school director Obri Johnson said that this information was immediately transferred to the police. Shin was forbidden to enter the school, and students were advised to stop any contacts with it.

On January 24, 2023, Shin was arrested and accused of providing false documents. For this, she can face up to five years in prison. Shin herself does not admit his guilt.

Schoolchildren complained that they were worried about their safety. One of them said that Shin suspects that she wanted to involve students, for example, in a sex work. And the other schoolgirl said that Shin wrote to her SSMESK at 11 pm. But, according to Shin’s lawyers, she lived far from her South Korean family and survived a difficult divorce - and simply wanted to regain the safety sense she experienced when she studied at high school.

The next court hearing in her case will be held on May 15. Shin’s lawyers said that after the end of the trial, she would like to go home to South Korea.

I entered the school under a new name at 30 years old to "return to the right path"

In the 1970s, Brian McKinnon moved with his family to Bersden, a city in Scotland north of Glasgow. There he entered the Academy of Bersden Academy of Academy, which he graduated in 1980. After McKinnon, he entered the University of Glasgow at the medical faculty, but in 1983 he was expelled because he failed exams. McKinnon said that at that moment there was unwell, but the “cruel system” did not take this into account. Due to the deduction, he felt “devastated” and “robbed” and was going to do everything possible to “return to the right path”.

In 1993-10 years after the expulsion from the university-30-year-old McKinnon entered the secondary school "Academy of Bersden" (the very one that he graduated more than 10 years ago). He introduced himself as 16-year-old Brandon Lee from Canada and for this even learned to speak with a fake accent. McKinnon told at school that his mother was an opera singer and died, and his father sent him to his grandmother in Scotland and soon died.

When McKinnon submitted documents for admission, he was nervous and afraid that he would be asked a question that he would not have an answer to. For example, they will ask for a birth certificate, which he did not make for his fake person.

McKinnon even met a teacher who worked at school when he used to study in it, but he did not recognize him. And once he told his classmates that he remembers the day when Elvis Presley died. But it was in 1977, when the “young” McKinnon was allegedly only born. And the fact that he looks older than other schoolchildren was explained by premature aging.

It is known that at the age of 30 he studied well and was popular at school, and also played in the school football team and even played the main role in the school musical “South of the Pacific Ocean”.

McKinnon studied for two years and after graduation entered the University of Dundee at the Faculty of Medicine under the same fake name Brandon Lee. However, someone informed the education authorities and the press about his deception-and the real person of McKinnon was revealed. In 1995, he was kicked out of the university.

McKinnon explained his deception by the fact that he simply wanted to study and go to the university again after that “unfair” deduction. According to the latest data, now he lives a recluse in an apartment building in Glasgow.

The documentary “My Old School” was shot about the history of McKinnon, the director of which was his former classmate Johno McLeod. He still calls McKinnon Brandon Lee. According to McLeod, the students reacted differently to such a deception, but McKinin himself is mostly good.

Johno McLeod claims to meet him for an interview to the film, but McKinon did not allow him to shoot him. At the same time, I agreed to the audio recording - it was used in the film.

McKinnon himself said that allegedly did not even remember such a classmate as Johno McLeod. Only once did he meet him in a cafe and then refused to give an interview. McKinnon is not going to watch the film and doubts that they will tell the truth in it. He does not want to share the details of that time: "I did what I did <...> and just reconciled with what happened."
