“I wanted my voice to be heard.” In Yekaterinburg, former employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the National Guard were sentenced to 19 years in prison for attempting to set fire to the administration of the city of Bakal

The Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg sentenced 37-year-old Aleksey Nuriev and 28-year-old Roman Nasryev to 19 years in prison for attempting to set fire to the Bakal administration building. This is reported by the "Solidarity Zone".

According to investigators, in October 2022, Nuriev and Nasryev threw several Molotov cocktails at the window of the Bakal city administration. In the same building there was a military registration desk, whose employee said on the court that the fire could destroy the file cabinet with the data of four thousand people.

At the same time, as noted by human rights activists, as a result of arson, only linoleum caught fire in the building, which the watchman put out on her own.

Solidarity Zone writes that this is currently the most severe sentence for anti-war arson. Nuriyev and Nasryyev were tried under two articles at once - "terrorist act" and "training for the purpose of committing terrorist activities."

Alexey Nuriev served in the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Roman Nasryev was a police sergeant, and at the end of 2016 he got a job as a driver in the National Guard. Both of them were members of the rock band Room32.

“I decided to take such an action because I did not agree with the mobilization, the “special military operation” and the war in general. With my action, I just wanted to show that in our city there is disagreement with the mobilization and the "special military operation." I wanted to convey my position of disagreement in this way, I wanted my voice to be heard, ”Nasryev said during the trial.
