Convicted Crimean activist Danilovich was not allowed to fully familiarize herself with the case materials

The Feodosia City Court of Crimea did not allow convicted activist Irina Danilovich to fully familiarize herself with the protocols of court hearings and did not allow her to prepare objections to them. This was reported by the Crimean Idea project with reference to her father Bronislav Danilovich.

In December 2022, he sentenced a woman to seven years in prison in a case of possession of explosives (Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code).

Judge Natalya Kulinskaya decided to finish the review process and on April 7 transferred the activist’s criminal case to the appellate court, Krym.Realii clarifies . The date for the hearing of the appeal against the verdict has not yet been set.

The health condition of Danilovich, who previously reported hearing loss in the pre-trial detention center, remains unsatisfactory. Her father told Crimean Idea that his daughter “continues to complain of persistent headaches, hearing loss and problems with coordination of movements.”

The man also emphasized that after the end of the hunger strike, the activist was not taken for a promised medical examination for a long time because of Judge Kulinskaya. She, as the Crimean Idea writes, “consciously set the date of familiarization with the court materials of the case on the day when the administration of the pre-trial detention center planned to take Danilovich to the hospital.”

Crimean activist and nurse Danilovich was detained in April 2022. For a long time, her relatives did not know where she was. Later, the woman was able to tell her family that she was held in the basement of the FSB building for about eight days, and then placed in a pre-trial detention center without heating.

Investigators believe she kept 200 grams of explosives in the lining of her glasses case. Danilovich herself and the defense claim that the explosives were planted on her - after the arrest, upon arrival at the FSB building, the security forces examined the bag and found nothing. Then, according to Danilovic, her bag was taken from her and explosives were subsequently found in it.

Danilovich was not provided with medical care in the pre-trial detention center: as a result, she developed ear inflammation, which led to almost complete hearing loss. For this reason, in March she went on a dry hunger strike, which she stopped after about two weeks - after the detention center staff promised to take her to the hospital.
