Political prisoner Alexei Moskalev was extradited from Belarus to Russia. He was sentenced in absentia to two years in prison on charges of repeated "discredit" Russian army. Moskalev escaped from house arrest, but was detained in Minsk.

On April 7, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Alexey Moskalev is in a pre-trial detention center in the city of Zhodino in Belarus and is awaiting deportation. After his arrest in Minsk, nothing was known about his whereabouts.

Context

On March 28, Alexei Moskalev was sentenced in absentia to two years in a general regime colony in the case of repeated "discredit" of the army. He was not at the trial. It later turned out that he escaped from house arrest, but was detained in Belarus.
In April 2022, his daughter Masha Moskaleva drew Ukrainian and Russian flags, a woman with a child with missiles flying at her, and wrote: “No to war” and “Glory to Ukraine.” The school employees called the security forces, and a representative of the FSB had a conversation with Moskaleva.
At the same time, a protocol was drawn up against Alexey Moskalev about “discrediting” the army for his anti-war post in Odnoklassniki: “Russian Army. Rapists are with us." He received a fine. In December, a criminal case was opened against him for repeated “discredit.”
There should be a trial against Moskalev to limit his parental rights.
