On March 25, Evgeny Prigozhin said that more than five thousand Russian concluded, having worked a contract with Wagner PMCs in the war in Ukraine, were released - and only 0.31% committed new crimes. A few days after this, it became known about the first murder, which was committed by the free Wagnerian. 28-year-old Ivan Rossomakhin, who received 14 years in a murder and robbery colony in 2020, was killed in a town in the Kirov region 85-year-old Julia Bui. "Cold" studied the life of Rossomakhin, talked with the relatives of the Buysky - and tells the story of this crime.

On holidays, during a feast, Julia Ivanovna Bui - an elderly woman with a cloud of curly gray hair and eyes that turned into alkali when she smiled - loved to sing songs. The relatives picked up if they knew the words: most of the songs were so old that their grandchildren heard their grandmother's performance.
Julia Ivanovna had many grandchildren and great -grandchildren. Although it was already difficult for her to walk, she worked in the garden every summer - her farm in the small city of Vyatka Polyans in the Kirov region, where she lived, has almost everyone - to harvest the yields, roll up jam to banks and send her relatives. Everyone who came to visit desperately stuffed several cans of blanks in bags, wrapping them in soft so that they would not break. And she said: “This is homemade, this is her own,” recalls Natalya Lapteva, the granddaughter of the Buysky (the name was changed for security reasons).
Like many people of her generation, Buyski was generally very trepidated for food. When the Second World War ended, she was seven years old; She survived the wild hunger in Central Russia. She did not like to talk about her childhood. Only sometimes she mentioned in passing how she ate a quinoa, potato cleaning, a porridge of wood bark.
Once Julia Ivanovna cooked in the kitchen with her granddaughter - and saw a green potato in her hands.
“Throw it away,” she said.
- Why? Now I’ll cut it, ”Natalya was surprised.
- No, throw it all away.
Lapteva was surprised: usually Julia Ivanovna, on the contrary, made sure that everyone was eating to the last spoon. So she found out that in childhood, the grandmother nearly died when she found a frozen green potato somewhere, ate her and poisoned her.
Also by accident, Natalia found out that several brothers and sisters of her grandmother died in infancy. Only three survived: Julia Ivanovna and her two sisters. I experienced both Buisky. In January 2023, she celebrated her 85th birthday in the largest restaurant in Vyatka Polyans.
Two months later, a young guy from a neighboring village, 28-year-old Ivan Rossomakhin, burst into her house. He should not be free: two and a half years ago he was sent to a maximum security colony for 14 years for murder and robbery. However, Rossomakhin signed up in the ranks of the Wagner PMC, went to fight in Ukraine, and then returned home to visit.
On the evening of March 29, the son of Julia Ivanovna, as always, went to her after work - and found that his mother was stabbed.

Once a summer night in 2016, a saleswoman Raipo in the village of Novy Burets discovered that the store was robbed . The glass was knocked out, alarm screamed throughout the street. After checking the shelves, the saleswoman found out that 19 bottles of vodka disappeared (including “Russian Way”), two bottles “Fanta” and 26 canned cans: stew, pork heart and liver, stuffed pepper and saira in oil.
The police with most of the stolen police soon found raspberries in the garden in the garden of 21-year-old Ivan Rossomakhin. The police already knew him well: a year before, he climbed into a strange house drunk and tried to strangle his neighbor, for which he went to prison for two weeks. While the police were looking for a kidnapper of vodka, Rossomakhin managed not only to embrace the store again, but also drunk to beat a familiar with a shovel. According to the aggregate of sins, he was sent to the colony for three years.
Ivan Rossomakhin was released in May 2019, but already in the fall he got drunk, threw an unfamiliar woman to the ground, took a backpack from her and fled. In the backpack lay a bottle of Vyatushka’s milk for 40 rubles and a “rifled” loaf for 26 rubles.
For robbery with the use of violence, Ivan Rossomakhin would go to the colony for a relatively short time - three and a half years. However, it turned out that before taking bread with milk from the fellow villager, he committed another crime.
On Friday, in October 2019, Ivan Rossomakhin went to visit a friend to drink together. He cut the path through the garden of his neighbor. She, seeing the local bully, screamed to him to get out of the site. He got angry and beat the neighbor to death - at least so the verdict says.
In court, Ivan Rossomakhin said that he did not kill his neighbor, and investigators forced him to stipulate himself because they promised to gather the deadline. The court did not believe: firstly, one of the neighbors saw how Rossomakhin climbed over the fence to the site of the murdered, and, secondly, the results of a genetic examination spoke in favor of his guilt (experts found that biological traces on the clothes of the murdered could appear as a result of mixing her DNA with DNA Ivan Rossomakhin). Doctors who checked the psyche of Rossomakhin found a mental disorder in him - but concluded that the diagnosis did not prevent him from realizing the crime of his actions.
For murder and robbery, Ivan Rossomakhin went to a maximum security colony for 14 years. He was supposed to be released in 2033 by a 38-year-old man. However, already in the spring of 2023, the inhabitants of the New Burtz met Rossomakhin on the streets of their village.
On the afternoon of March 22, pensioner Galina Sapozhnikova from New Burtz heard that “someone was yelling” on the street. She went out of the house to see what was happening, and then a neighbor called her. “I'm calling you and call you,” she chattered . - Vanka is coming! Singing in full swing! In one hand, beer, and in the other - I don’t understand what ... pitchfork! ”

In the village of New Bouke, only a couple of hundred people live, most of them are women. They work mainly with milkmaids at the local agricultural enterprise; They go to work in a dark - at three in the morning. When Rossomakhin’s robber began to walk the streets, they were so scared that the district authorities even arranged a meeting in the village to calm them down. By that time, the newly -made Wagnerian had already sat down for five days for petty hooliganism: on the second day after returning from the war, Rossomakhin broke the window with two cars in the parking lot.
“We have such an individual - Rossomakhin Ivan, who has returned from a special military operation. In principle, it was expected to be, because it was an extremely troubled person, problematic, ”said Vadim Varankin, the head of the district police district department (the cold could not talk to him; the head of the Novoburian rural settlement, Lyubov Bazhanova, refused to speak with the“ cold ”) .
He informed the excited residents of the new Burtz that he had agreed with Rossomakhin: as soon as he would get out of his arrest, he would come home, “gather his belongings”-and on March 28 the police will put him “with all the manat on the train”: “So that he would dump him from here, so that I would not see him here anymore.” However, Rossomakhin did not go anywhere. And on March 29 he killed 85-year-old Julia Ivanovna Bui.
Among the other meetings about Rossomakhin, there was a 71-year-old pensioner Agrippina Fedorovna (the name was changed at the request of the heroine) . She is far from the idea that if not for the war, then this murder would not have happened. “It would have been - no one knows. What would he come out of there after 14 years, huh? Who corrected the prison? Tell us an example! " - she says and immediately recalls another fellow villager, who eventually took up the mind: "He also sat for 13 years for the murder - [went out], lived normally with his mother."
“The war has nothing to do with it,” continues Agrippina Fedorovna. - The war has nothing to do with it. What does the war have to do with it? "

A couple of days before the death, Julia Ivanovna called to congratulate her great -grandson on her birthday. “She was very, very worried that he was not suitable [for military service],” recalls Lyubov Zharkov, wife of her grandson Yulia Ivanovna, Viktor Zharkov (the names of the heroes were changed at their request) .
Viktor Zharkov - former paratrooper; In the photo profile in social networks, he has the letter Z with the Russian flag. The death of his grandmother, according to his wife Lyubov, is very difficult. To talk about whether the war has made this crime possible, Lyubov Zharkova does not want to. “It’s not so inappropriate to talk about it now, but dangerous,” she explains, referring to the ban on “discredit” participants in military operations. She understands the logic of these prohibitions: it is bad to talk about the Wagnerians - means “it is bad to talk about the government that decided to send such people to the war,” and it is bad to talk about the government that means to arm the enemy.
“No matter how I, suppose, I do not agree with the president, in any case, I wish that in the eyes of others he is stronger than everyone. While he is stronger than all - accordingly, no one will climb to us, ”she explains. “A sense of fear is inherent in everyone.” In addition, Lyubov Zharkov adds, there is no point in criticizing the authorities: whatever you say, "nothing will change, it will be the way it is."
Julia Ivanovna always worked at home. She heard on the air, she discussed with her granddaughter Natalia Lapteva, who spent half a day in Ukraine, in Kherson: her cousin lived there.
"She asked me:" There [Russian troops] do not bomb peaceful people? " And I to her: “Grandmother, they bombed the next entrance in the house. Do you think there lived not peaceful people?” And she is to me: “Oh, I don’t understand anything,” Natalya recalls conversations with her grandmother. - She said that in any case, war is bad, no matter what happened, no one should kill anyone. But causal relationships were confused in the head, due to age, it is difficult to treat propaganda information harshly and critically. ”
Natalia herself and her parents do not support the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The anti -war position is a rarity for the single -haired Vyatka Polyana, where most of the inhabitants work at the Hammer’s weapon plant. This plant was on the verge of bankruptcy for a long time, workers did not pay salaries for six months , and they periodically arranged strikes . Lapteva, who left Vyatka Polyans several years ago, recalls that, working for two bets by a teacher, she received 17 thousand rubles a month, could afford to go to the cafe once a week and considered this standard of living “very cool, higher than average”.
With the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, everything has changed. “The plant began to work at the facilities that people don’t even remember, and some stupidly began to live a little better thanks to the war,” Lapteva explains. In June 2022, the governor of the Kirov region really reported that the plant increased the state order and now the main problem of the enterprise is not where to get money for salaries, and where to find additional workers. Lapteva herself works as a physician; Recently, she, according to her, was called a friend from her hometown for advice: "Dad received a salary, he was taken to narcology, what to do, how to pull out a person, he never received 30 thousand rubles in life."
“Now at the expense of the war, due to the fact that the plant received development, a huge number of people believe that everything is cool, the government is super,” Lapteva argues. “They finally became a little easier to live, they stopped leaving the whole salary for food and utilities.”
The daughter -in -law of the murdered Julia Ivanovna Lyubov Zharkova believes that in the use of prisoners at the front there are pluses: taking five thousand people from the colony, the authorities do not mobilize five thousand “civilians” to the front. “But there is such a minus as Rossomakhin,” she adds. - Yes, this happened. Yes, this may happen more than once. And most importantly - we can’t run away from this and do nothing. ”
