A defendant in the “anti-war case” from Tolyatti is going to be sent to a hospital for psychiatric examination

The Avtozavodsky District Court of Togliatti sent the person involved in the “anti-war case” Dmitry Vashchenko to a psychiatric hospital for an examination. This was reported to OVD-Info by his mother.

The man will be placed there only after the decision comes into force. The lawyer from OVD-Info, who represents his interests, is going to appeal the decision, so the person involved in the case will not get to the hospital before the appeal. Vashchenok lives with his mother, who has a Group II disability. A woman suffers from a number of diseases and cannot do without outside help.

Vashchenko is being prosecuted under the article on the repeated discrediting of the Russian army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). He was detained in February at work - in the AvtoVAZ building. The details of the criminal case against him are unknown, and his lawyer was taken under a non-disclosure agreement.

In August 2022, Vashchenko was fined 15 and 30 thousand rubles under the administrative article on discrediting the Russian army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses): in the first case, it was about a video that told about the trial in Ukraine of Russian tanker Vadim Shishimarin, accused in the murder of a Ukrainian pensioner, in the second - about the video of the Ukrainian ICTV channel, dedicated to the looting of the Russian military.
