RusNews journalist and author of the telegram channel “Honest Korolevskoe!” Roman Ivanov was sent to a pre-trial detention center because of his posts about the war in Ukraine. This was reported by his lawyer from OVD-Info.
The preventive measure was chosen by the Korolyovsky City Court. Ivanov was taken into custody until June 10.
There are three criminal cases against the journalist under the article on disseminating “fakes” about the Russian army based on political hatred (clause “d”, part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) because of three posts in the telegram channel “Honest Korolevskoe!” The criminal cases are based on: a publication about bodies discovered in the Kiev region after the retreat of Russian troops, a publication about a UN report that described the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, and a news item with a statement by Sergei Shoigu about Russia’s shortage of missiles.
They initiated a search and came to Ivanov on April 11th. After that he was taken for interrogation. He spent the night from April 11 to April 12 in the Korolev temporary detention facility.
The Moscow Regional Court approved the decision to place Ivanov, a fellow journalist, in custody.
