The third person involved in the case of Rosderzhava journalists was detained in the Moscow region

In the Moscow region, before a meeting of the Lyubertsy City Court in the case of Rosderzhava journalists, the third person involved in the case, Dmitry Filimonov, was detained. Information about this appeared in the telegram channel of the support group for the defendants.

Presumably, Filimonov was taken to the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region. He himself associates the detention with the case of the Rosderzhava journalists.

Previously, Filimonov refused the testimony he gave during the investigation. He stated that he slandered journalists Alexander Dorogov and Yan Katelevsky due to pressure, and also noted that this was a condition for his release from custody.

The telegram channel “Katelevsky and Dorogov Info” notes that Filimonov gave his testimony under threats of fabricating criminal cases against his relatives. “Filimonov himself was planted with a live cartridge, we assume that torture could have taken place,” added representatives of the support group.

Also, according to their information, detentions and searches of Filimonov’s relatives began today. Who specifically underwent investigative measures and within what case was not specified.

The court hearing in the “Rosstate” case was postponed until tomorrow—April 13.

Yan Katelevsky and Alexander Dorogov are accused of extortion (clause “b” of part 3 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code) and insulting an official (Article 319 of the Criminal Code) - the investigation believes that they extorted 1.3 million rubles from a traffic police officer for refusing publishing materials about him. Katelevsky is also accused in the case of damaging property for hooligan reasons (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code). The journalists were detained at the end of July 2020.

Journalists believe that this criminal case was ordered and fabricated against them because of their professional activities and investigations, including publications about crimes in the field of funeral services in the Moscow region.
